The funny thing about this song is that 1cm was composed after their CEO heard their quarrel over their height and he found absurd and made a song. Many of their weird songs just like sleeping in the car or Aze gag are about their conversation while on the waiting room and how the staff lr their boss find amusing the non-sense that goes on and they don't hold back.

The point is THEY ARE ALL SHORT! Like if they are standing with other idols or western audience, they will literally disapear. There were incidents that the camera had to zoom out to find them. But instead of being insecure about the height, they usually use it as their advantage. They would sneak behind everyone in events or awards ceremonies and sneak out first to go for a party or to avoid traffic and come home early. It’s famous that Mamamoo is always the one that leave first.

My favourite thing about this song, aside from the fact they made it in the first place, and that they apparently bicker about their heights so often their CEO told them they should make a song out of it, is that they went and made this song Track 1 on their first full length album. The album with the title track (You're the Best) that earned them their first actual awards and music show wins. The album that brought them their first major success, and the first track on that album is this chaotic diss track where they roast each other over who's the tallest. Absolute Queen behaviour.

The funny thing about this is Byul (being the highest in the group) is so proud of her height and keeps making fun of the members but in kpop idol's standards she's on the short side. 😆 I almost forgot jjing jjing (Solar's dog) is in this MV 😭😭 run free in doggo heaven.

They are all "too short" to be idols and tease each other all the time about the one centimeter they have over the other member; Hwasa really did tease Solar is 1cm taller only because her head is big. The CEO thought it's so funny they should make a song from it. But wait, there's more. During the overnight filming for this video Solar and Wheein went into a bit airing all their gripes about being tired in full makeup but at least members that film in a different part of the order can sleep in the car, but sleeping in makeup is super uncomfortable, Wheein is always made to go last so she can never go home early, etc. So there is a Mamamoo song called Sleep In the Car, and it goes MUCH harder than a joke song has any business going.

You said you wanted to see their crazy stuff first but their serious songs hit as well. My recommendation would be to watch "mamamoo starry night - animal version". Starry night is amongst their top 3 hits in SK, but in true Mamamoo fashion - they did a goofy version of a serious song.

Hahaha Mamamoo's troll songs are the best. Their CEO overheard them constantly squabbling and dissing one another about their heights, so they ended up making a song about it. Irony is, they're ALL short but only 1 cm taller than one another (Wheein < Hwasa < Solar < Moonbyul) which makes it even more pitiful lol. It's for these little things that Mamamoo became known for female empowerment in Korea. They shattered idol standards by just being their silly little selves on camera during a time when female idols were boxed into strictly cute or girl grush concepts. Mamamoo didn't adhere to either concept but just remained their carefree fun selves whilst delivering powerhouse vocals. You nailed it, the instrumental was inspired by Dre and Eminem, there's definitely a bit of Under the Influence, The Next Episode, and The Real Slim Shady in the bed. This was a track on their first full length album Melting. The album has a cohesive sound between all the tracks and everything feels like it flows except for this first track which is almost like a comedic interlude before the album. Give it a listen on your own sometime. Also going to recommend once more their 2016 Moosical Preview, their pseudo rehearsal livestream. I think you'll enjoy it and you will hear some B sides you'd miss otherwise.

This really has been the wildest start to a Mamamoo journey. 😂😂 But I truly love it, cause the whiplash going between their incredible talent and their comedic genius is something moomoos are just used to by now. One of those groups you cannot select a bias it's OT4 all the time ...all of them are masters of their specific trade and advanced performers in the others. i love how other kpop groups are making hip-hop diss tracks about their haters while mamamoo is here fighting themselves and their company lmao i love how unserious they are on a more serious note though, while hip-hop tracks are fun to listen to, i've always found their lyrics somewhat repetitive and overdone. it's usually just "fuck the haters" paraphrased over and over again. so i love how mamamoo is putting a spin on the genre and just doing their own thing.

They do a 10 minute animated skit voiced by them all supersized which then goes live action with Wheein "normal giant sized? the other 3 in as Wheein says dressed like boogers, wheein also voices god in the animated and live action parts, then after that they go into the song and ends with extreme audience participation. For some background they are also dissing the entire KPOP idol image. They were told to be the best vocalists because they are ugly and short and they are short, pretty much every other female Idol towers over these 4 tiny women. So they are dissing themselves as a group though clearly picking on Wheein the most and well Solar's big head was funny.
