Technical diving to approx 50m on mixed gasses on the wreck of the Lanfranc. - a British hospital ship of the First World War. Built in Scotland in 1907 as a Booth passenger liner. She was commandeered as a hospital ship in the First World War and sunk in 1917 by German sub UB40 with the loss of 34 war casualties - 13 British wounded and 15 German, 5 crew and a member of RAMC. RN patrol vessels rescued the remainder of the 401 souls on board.
The wreck now lies well broken in approx 50m of water 40 nm from Brighton. Her prop has been salvage but there are still many things to see on the wreck including an impressive bow anchor. We dived her using a mix of equipment - mainly AP or JJ rebreathers and Otter or Othree drysuits. Shearwater computers or NERD's used for backup.
