A collection of my #scuba #diving and #rebreather and music songwriting exploits. I am a British scuba diver using an AP valves xpd inspiration rebreather.
I've been searching for footage of this wreck for years as this ship was what got me interested in the ocean after all the timber washed ashore in Worthing when I was 5 years old. It's really awesome to finally see it so thanks for making this video.
I don’t think this is drinking water. Just an old slate quarry near Nanttle, N Wales. The cars are there courtesy of a teenager from circa 2005 who liked to break into cars every Friday night and roll them off the cliff.
There is a couple of nice maps and hand drawn diagrams with bearings but I can find a way to post pics. Join this fb group. They are on there. facebook.com/groups/305806390539159/?ref=share
When I dived the James the first year a mast was just out of the water. The navy then sent their divers to make safe some radio Active disks that would glow in the dark. Many divers would take one and end up with a radio Active burn. I never did find out what the original use was for. Anybody know?? Oh back in the mid 80s it was me that took some cow bones and laid them on the Port side. The stories that came from that. 😂😂 No body died on the James from the crew of about 69 and it was towed into the bay before sinking. Is there much left of the James??
Great video. I dived this wreck twice in the early 80's (so nearly 40 years ago). I remember it to be much more intact with what seemed like hundreds of brass port holes. I didn't see any in your video, so I assume that they've all been salvaged now?
From the direction of the road, swim along the 35m drop off, past the (bus) cairn and then 20m hydrobox. If you drop down from this 'walk-the-plank' there is a pirate trail to follow.
It is about 40m so takes a couple of mins to get through. It isn’t too restricted but there are a couple of points where you need to lift your bailouts over rocks etc. it is at 56m. Best entered from the west side
I'm 'amazed' , to use an over used adjective. I can't believe a sturgeon lives in here ,I thought they were all in Scotland ! Seriously , I as surprised to see that , lovely perch ,but s this a dumping ground for lland and water vehicles ? Wonder how long since it was a quarry .things you see on your own doorstep ? I was born and raised in Tamworth. I enjoyed the vid
Hey Mike indo love your videos with the AP rebreathers.... Where are these skeleton pirates on the plank? I am new to Stoney so any pointers would be great 👍 👌
Hi Matthew. To find the pirates on the plank, jump at the bus stop and head down the road following the railway sleepers to the 20m area. Heading roughly 210 deg. When you find the edge of the 35m pit follow it round to the left staying at 20m. After a bit of a swim you will see a pile of (cairn) stones. If you were to do a 90 deg left here you would find the coach, but dont do that, carry on following the edge of the pit round. It is a longish swim. Eventually you will see the pirates and the plank. Good luck. Safe diving. There are more pirate treasures, a pirate on a gibbet, an altar with candlesticks and goblets and a treasure chest in the pit around the edge at about 30m.
@@Mikeydsmith I was wondering about your reference to a shallower dive as when considering usage of 02 depth makes no difference , the body metabolises the same amount irrelevant of what depth, and as a general rule of thumb it’s 1 liter per minute 😊
@@colmdoherty49 correct. But still I would do a deeper dive with more full cylinders. Mostly for comfort and some margin of error to cover unplanned slow leakage and the higher risk of long deco.
Wow!! You guys just popped up courtesy of YT (not like them is it 😆😆😆?) Great filming Buds. Your as bad as me talking in my dive 😆. So yeh its a 👉 👍 🔔 👈 from me - hope you'll grab us too Bud. 😍 👍 👊 🇬🇧
