Hi everyone. Here's some raw diving footage back in October when I was diving for bottles & cleaning up trash off McNab's Island near Halifax. There are only a couple transitions added for when I had to surface, but this is more of a video to show you what I see and my experience. I always try to take everything I see with me but it's not always possible. I'm using the Blu3 Nemo, which allows me to be at a depth of about 10 feet. Bottom time was 39 minutes.
Being underwater in the ocean resets my brain and is very therapeutic.

SEAN, Bill McIntosh here from Adventures with Purpose - any possibility when the water warms up I can meet you uo there and we can see if we can locate Ian MacKeiugan in the waters off HALIFAX NS ? He has to be close to his route going. into the city near the park or in town we would need to sonar the waters and then dive on any cars we find .. He was reported missing October 25 1984 in a 1978 Plymouth Horizon Tc3 hatchback off of Brunswick street ,, he had just graduated from a welding course in Sydney Nova Scotia

Hi Bill. This might be outside my skill level but I'm interested. The harbour here is deep and has lots of boat traffic.

I had a dream last night that I was on a small island made of mud, its surface nearly flush with that of the brown water of the shallow bay surrounding it. As I traversed the edge of the island I soon realized, the island was actually the hull of a wooden ship long since sunk and covered in silt. Nobody in 200 years had realized this until now, I was the first person to notice the island was a shipwreck covered in mud. And so as I found myself at the very edge of the end of the island I looked down and saw through the shallow water hundreds of small pint sized ceramic jugs. I picked up one jug and as I washed off the mud it revealed a manufacturer's mark of black glaze - it was from the 1860's as denoted by a date inscribed on the bottom. I picked up jug after jug each revealing a new design previously unknown to history. That's when I realized there was no way I could take them all for the island was made of them, they were the cargo inside the hull below my feet. An island of civil war era cargo covered in mud in the footprint of the sunken ship that had carried them 150 years ago.

Whats the silt like when you kick it up, does it take long to settle in ocean currents? Do you just have to keep moving away from it? What kinda battery life does that device give you and what amount of weight do you need to keep you down with only a wetsuit on?
@SaltwaterSean
@SaltwaterSean 8 месяцев назад
This place was fairly sandy versus silty and the tidal pull quickly removed anything I kicked up. Battery life is decent - about 45 min on average. The weight I usually add depends on what wetsuit I'm wearing

Sean, I did see a nice blob. I was amazed at how clean and clear the water was to dive in. It was fun seeing all the critters. I think that crayfish wanted to challenge you. Another wonderful clean up.👍😀👏
