My mom used to make divinity but she used a hand mixer. She must have been super strong to hold the mixer with one hand and pour from the saucepan with the other. I didn’t realize how tricky this was to make. Come to think of it she didn’t have a candy thermometer either. 🤔 Thanks for sharing. I can practically smell and taste it.
It would be so much work and simply amazing to make divinity with a hand mixer and without a candy thermometer!😲 Divinity can still have a mind of it's own even with those conveniences! 😬 Thank you so much for watching! 💗 Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have a very happy New Year!
Hello Christina thank you for inviting me to join your lovely cooking channel love your recipe will have to try this recipe full support returned to you please stay connected
. . . this looks great - totally new to me so something tells me there’s a lot of trial & error ahead with this - but that’s cool! Thank You for posting this ☀️
It's a bit of a tricky one - I don't make it often and really wanted to make a video, even to just help myself remember all the little nuisances of the recipe! It's fun though and I have several happy memories of making it with my Mother, even when we had a few oops! 💗 Thanks for watching! I hope you have a wonderful day!
My mother would tint the divinity pink and put marishino cherry on top and some green, with a whole pecan, very festive.Christmas will never be the same without her.
I love the way your Mother decorated the divinity - I can just imagine how pretty they looked! And how special - I love memories like that. It's hard though.💗😢💗 Much love - hope you had a wonderful Christmas. And hope you have a happy New Year! 🎉
I don't think it's embellished, so it looks more luxurious. The shape and taste will be great. Thank you for the delicious food. You cook so well. I am Korean and Korean.🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷💝🎶🎶💖🎶 I will look forward to other dishes often. I sincerely hope you are healthy and always happy.
Another sweet blast from the past Chritina. I remember divinity candy from way back when although I don't remember ever seeing it being made. Our jobs as kids was just to eat it! Now I know just how special that candy was. Many thanks!
Thank you so much Terry! 💗 Oh my, as kids I think we just took it upon ourselves to try every holiday treat. Someone brought really strong rum balls to a party and my parents didn't figure it out right away - but they moved fast when they started seeing spat out globs everywhere 😂😂😂 Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments. I love that my amazing Mother-in-law shared this treat with me. So special! 💕 Happy Holidays to you and your family!❤💚🎄

I am going to use my silpat liners. but your tape is a great idea. I like your laid back approach, and going over the whole list of needs, down to the buttered spoon which I am imagining will help a lot. Going to ask a friend too. Thanks

Hello. My grandma used to make divinity every Christmas. A lot of it!! Ppl would bring her the ingredients and she would happily make it. She uses to make all kinds of different flavors as well as the pecan. Maple, cherry. I miss her. Thank you for the video. I've been making it for just a couple of years and I stress out. It helps to see someone make it. Merry Christmas
