I did the story for every origin char and started lone wolf builds. Soloing Mordus' final form on tactitian, when I couldn't beat him on normal before.
What they showed based on the motion capture, I feel like teamup attacks are a big thing with some cool techniques unlocked when you specialize in fighting styles.
and what do you think? what should they make? they can't think it over like in D:OS1, it was just too cryptic, especially at the end. Also they should keep open world to explore, not too much farming, creepy dungeons, strange places... they must keep it like BG1. Now would they? I hope so
yea, because that's when I found the video... I was just pointing out that this guy commented, then was going through the comments a month later and unknowingly loved and related to his own comment.. it's kinda funny.
I had no idea that this game could expand my borders of what a true masterpiece video game is like . Perfect , from music to every single other aspect the game has.
Nothing is perfect, and certainly not this game either. Cough *Final Fight* cough *Blackpits fight* cough *Broken cheese mechanics* cough. But overall, a masterpiece yes.
I skipped buying this game when it was released, cause I saw it was turn-based combat (I hate it). Decided to buy it last week... I think I'm already past 50 hours of gameplay. This game is addicting AF! The narrative, the character building, the soundtrack, the world, the skills... it all made me forget my hate for turn-based combat, and I'm loving it.
Glad you're enjoying it man :D There is a lot of REALLY good games that have turn based combat. Try going out of your comfort zone, you might discover another gem like Divinity.
@@MultiBahader Depends on what aspects of DOS 2 you liked most.. There are turn-based combat games in which the battle-mechanics are interesting (Octopath Traveler is a recent one), there are games turn-based games with 'compelling' stories (Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, X). But none of them hit all the marks like Divinity Original Sin 2. I recommend waiting for the full release of Baldurs' Gate 3. And go in blind, by not watching anything of the Baldurs' Gate 3 Early Acces.
@@valenpro9512 tbh i'd never liked turn based games(except might and magic series) before i tried DOS 2 and BG3 and now i feel like i am starting to like it more than hack and slash or the dynamic combats of other rpgs. FF series does not appeal to me but i will give it a try. Also i am curious to check Pathfinder series although it looks a bit confusing for someone who never played D&D before
In my 30+ years only two games have themes I won't skip or listen to it's completion before I move one. They are "Over the Clouds" (God Eater PSP) and Divinity Original Sin 2.
I swear, I've spent more time on the title screen than developing my characters and playing most of the campaign lol. The only game's title themes I think I enjoy more are Civilization IV and VI, which just cannot be replaced (to me).
@@TheThirdThrice I was so disappointed that on my first playthrough I missed somehow the guy on fire, the dragon and the bee queen. Yeah, this game is so awesome. Of course when I first started playing it I didn't quite understand which stats for which build I should raise (well I kinda knew but still invested in things that were completely unnecessary), then I read a bit and it was much, much easier, but still, that bee queen/magician was a pain in the ass. Good times and waiting for BG3 completion, and then continuation of the Original Sin saga, hoping Lohse's in it as it is called Fallen Heroes or something. I'll gladly give'em my money.
so strange, and whole time i was playing this long campaign, i was thinking "wow i never (rarely) saw SO MUCH effort and love put in a game". fuck game awards!
@@uwuweweweonyetenweweugweuh8693 не, БГ 3 это не дивинити, очень надеюсь, что разработчики не станут добавлять эту систему с кубиком в третью часть дивинити
almost 60 hours and i'm in reapers coast. just chilling and trying to get the best view and screenshots out of all the locations after clearing them can't believe the average playtime for most players is 64 hours. i'll definitely get more than 100
Ah Divinity a game where my team died because of my stupidity and not because of enemy a game where I got Fane killed because i cast healing spells a game where I sat my own ass on fire because I forgot to move away from the enemy great game, great memories
Ah yes, many moments have I done that :D I always crossed the line between "am I in range to get hit by my own spell?...ONLY ONE WAY TO FIND OUT!!!" Or better yet, when I was playing with my friends and accidentally nuked the shit out of my best friend.
@@dazurathefirst8456 Co-Op is awesome in this game I myself had a few moments the most WTF was during Griff's quest My best friend was already a veteran of Divinity while I was a newcomer so I asked him where Orange was he said the lizard has it so I tracked him down while My best Friend was in the arena he had Fane as a companion while I had Red Prince the moment I saw the Lizard I blasted his ass with Fireballs killing him on the spot and Red Prince was like: that was the dreamer! Me: oops My friend on the other side: What the hell happened to Red Princes quest? Me: I killed the dreamer Him: You what? Why? Me: you said he had Oranges! Him: You killed a guy FOR THE FUCKING ORANGE? seriously what's wrong with you? Me: I could not get it otherwise Him: you could have taken it Me: I don't have Pickpocket skill Him: Red Prince is a Rogue for gods sake! how could you not have pickpocket? Me: I didn't add points to it I don't like stealing Him: Oh man I am done lets move on we screwed up Red Prince's quest better watch out in the future
A game where me and a friend was doing one fight for like one hour untill we won it and after the fight speaking to npc's or doing Inventory / charakter custimation stuff for hours
Divinity Original Sin 2 is genuinely a masterpiece and it deserves all the praise love and adoration it has received and continues to get even 6+ years after its release Wanna know just how good this game is we're in 2023 people still constantly talk about this game as if it released yesterday games like this are truly special and remind us why we fell in love with games in the forst place which I know is easy to forget when in today's day and age so many games come out either a buggy broken glitchy mess or filled with micro transactions, lootboxes, season/battle pass and so on It's a blessing we still have developers like Larian Studios who are gamers that want to make games for other real gamers
I never really put on game music for any game I play. Usually just watch something on the side or listen to podcasts or music. This specific theme made me close the podcast I was watching and just listen for a bit, then went on to play the game with just the game sound on.
Both Original Sin games were an extremely huge success for Larian. The first being very solid and a signal to the devs to go all in with the OS2. And that definitely was not a mistake.
I was born too late to see the pyramids being built. I was born too soon to see aliens coming. But i was born right in the right time so i could experience and enjoy this masterpiece of a game and it's soundtrack. Thank you, Larian and Bori !
You don't need to, the fact that there's multiple origin characters and so much build variety that can drastically change how you play, makes replaying it again and again give you a new experience each time
Played this game two times in couch co op with my girlfriend. This is one of the best games I've ever played, it has the best turned-base-combat, huge depth in every way, a beautiful world, fantastic characters with realistic development throughout the (~80hrs) story/game and the best co op experience. Good fucking game.
Literally the perfect OST. I was far too young when I played this game, so it kinda got ruined for me due to that lack of understanding, but just hearing this in a DnD campaign recently brought back all the memories, and I *_instantly_* knew where this was from. I played that game like 4 years ago. That should tell you how good and impactful this music was on me. For many years, I have wondered exactly where my love of RPGs came from, especially in the DnD style. Perhaps it was just the RU-vid algorithm, which did actually introduce me to DnD itself, and _so_ many other obsessions that I don't even know I have. Perhaps it was Skyrim, which I grew up with, and I still play despite my 1,000 hours or so. Perhaps... perhaps it was this game, even in the incredibly short dozen or so hours I played it. I definitely think that this game was my first true taste of an actual RPG. While the whole Elder Scrolls universe may be based off of a campaign, and therefore Skyrim is by proxy, and it definitely still has many roots to it, this game is the fucking _tree_ in comparison. I think that this game is a masterpiece, even though my entire personal experience with it was frustrating and confusing for my dumb kid brain when I had it. Y'know man, in hindsight, I had a lot of gaming gems in my possession, but I was too unwise to capitalize on a potential new obsession to consume my life for the next few years. Halo Reach, Gta San Andreas and 4, and this game, Divinity: Original Sin 2, all slipped through my fingers in my efforts to find the one nugget of gold lying somewhere, but in my efforts in doing so, I missed diamonds. And after all that, I think that this game resonates with that feeling the most.
Honestly the entire soundtrack beats Skyrim's imo. The OST of this game is one of the big reasons I fell in love with it, the music is truly a masterpiece.
@@thebigscratch7826 Whenever I get my mates on to play our co-op save we end up belting the theme over our discord call for 5 minutes before actually starting lol
Divinity's strength is certainly its immersive soundtrack. Skyrim is meant to be immersed first person; while Divinity's is to immerse you in the world's story. To feel the emotion and weight of every location and story.
My wife played violin for a long long time. She is really good at it. Had her try to play this on the cello and holy god damn I'm glad I married that woman. Took some practice to adjust from the violin to the cello but man that was a treat to listen to. Should have bought that instrument right there
@@rashthunher Dungeons and Dragons! A social roleplaying game with combat. Several players create their characters and fill a role within the party, while 1 person (the Dungeon Master or DM) is the one that facilitates rules and the story. Together the players and the DM go through adventures to tell stories!
An absolute beast of an RPG which you can replay about 30-50 times , so much variation. 10/10 and if you have friend(s) then you might as well just give it 100/10.
Although I just got this game, I'm enjoying every second of it; Especially this menu music. There's just something about it that keeps me coming back and for the life of me I can't pin point what it is!
Спасибо за шедевр, Лариан. Одна из моих самых любимых игр. Через пару лет обязательно перепройду в третий раз. Жаль конечно, что ждать DOS3 ещё как минимум года 3.
0:24 remember that scene in first Doctor Strange where he gets revelation about magic and has a trip through dimensions? That's how i feel when this part starts playing
I got this game a week ago, and have been absolutely stuck. At first I thought I was going to hate it for being turn based but it turned out to be a really good.
Одна из тех редких композиций которая вдохновляет настолько что чувствуются спазмы в горле, которая буквально поднимает с места и хочется что то делать, куда то пойти.
I hope they use this song as leitmotif for the franchise if they ever do a third one. This is really recognizable and it would hype me the same way the elder scroll's main theme hypes me.
Congrats to the musicians, this will be a timeless composition for this game. It's on the scale of blizzard games or any AAA RPG game produced by these leading developers in the gaming industry... this game is a needed fresh breath of air in this monopolized industry... My friend gave it for me on a cracked version... I'm 30 minutes in and im already sad i didn't pay. SO I NOW DID, cause i'm not or atleast trying to not be a hypocrite or a bad person generally... but i digress. Fantastic game and timeless music!
@@revanruler6404 as soulless as they may be you have to admit the music quality in some of the games they make is truly something spectacular (starcraft 2 terran songs for example)
This is brilliant. You have to give credit to musicians who made this. As it's nearly perfect soundtrack for when you're staring at the screen for half an hour and trying to figure out what you'll play as.
This game is a masterpiece, without exaggeration. The gameplay, all the secrets, the characters, and the music, my god. Thank you Larian for this license. Baldur's gate 3 is in the same vein.
I feel like BG3's OST is more bombastic and, in your face, while DOS2's OST is a little more subtle, mysterious and enjoyable to me. I like songs from both OSTs, but overall DOS2 wins for me.
This theme truly transcends the age gap. From 0:24 and when the instruments start to kick in, it fits all the following criterias: a soundtrack of AAA game from 2017, an intro of a flash game from 2000's, a theme of late 90's CD games. It is memorable, and feels nostalgic, even if it might be your first time hearing.
Even though i am 24, i will remember this game as my childhood game. Because as a person who grew up with ps1 games, this game gave me so much old school vibes. And this ost even makes it better.
i cant bear myself to play tactical rpgs, but this is the only exception. i downloaded it just to give it a try and faster then i could know i was entranced by it and grew very attached to my party.
