Im an Independent. I use to mostly vote Republican. I voted for Trump twice, but after Jan 6th, I decided never again would I support this man. It's gotten even worse among most Republicans. I met Governor Pritzker several years ago when working for a university his kid was planning to attend. He was kind, knowledgeable and very personable. Since then, he has proven to be a good man and has done his job well.

Past Republicans have denounced any violent acts by the far right. Trump has embraced violence and promotes violence by his supporters. This has lead to massive increase in domestic terrorism because of trump's constant statements of dangerous rhetoric.
