my words for the guy: he seems to be someone who saw an ideal relationship in a tv show or movie and wants his future wife to be the exact same. The fact is that she improved per your request and you are still trying to find faults in her to give an excuse as to why you dont put a ring on it. I can tell he loves her just simply because it doesn't APPEAR like he is ACTUALLY cheating on her and he is staying faithful, but he is wanting TOO much out of her while she is STILL just a girlfriend. If you want her to do all these "wifey" things, you have to officially give her that ring. There is nothign wrong with having standards with what you want out of a person, but you have to 1. make them realistic and 2. hold up your end of the bargain when you make agreements. It's as they said, she is running out of time to have kids and that is what she WANTS. If you aren't wanting a child, or aren't wanting to fully commit to her, you just have to let her go. It sucks, it's hard, it isn't an easy conversation to have especially when you spent so long with someone, but it needs to be said and done. my words for the woman: There is nothing wrong with someone wanting to get married so badly, but this mindset also works opposite when talking about it. A lot of men do NOT want to feel pressured into doing something, ESPCIALLY something as major as marriage. We as men already know that we aren't getting married for our own benefit because there aren't really any major benefits in marriage for the guy and it's all a benefit for the woman. Trying to pressure a man into making that decision will actually get you the OPPOSITE effect a majority of the time where they will put off proposing or push the wedding because of how much you are pushing him to do it. If it feels forced, we wouldn't want to do it and it's the ones that do go through with it that end up here on ACTUAL divorce court (not before your vows and what not). If you want to have kids and the person you are with is not pushing for you to have them either it either means he doesn't want them, or doesn't care if you have them or not, especially when you are with someone for so long. You need to move on and find someone who is actually on the same page as you when it comes to what you want in life. I dont think the relationship is awful, but he keeps stating you are meeting his requirements and he isn't meeting yours. It would be best if you both moved on. My words overall: We as men are having to pick someone who will love us for who we are and wont leave us when the times get tough. We have to pick someone who is willing to settle down and not trying to party hard on the weekends. We have to pick someone who is actually willing to work things out together. We dont have any benefits going into marriage, and/or the benefits we get are just basic things. Women get half of EVERYTHING and even worse yet they get alimony so they can "continue living the life they lived while married" so on top of taking half of all the mans stuff you also take a good paycheck from him as well (depending on his job and what he does of course) and the man now has to rebuild EVERYTHING he already worked his ass off for only to have it taken away from him from someone he thought would love him for the rest of his life. Men SHOULD be taking this amount of time to decide this sort of thing because you will never TRULY know someone until you've been with them through EVERYTHING. There are people who claim they will be with you through thick and thin, yet will break your heart the first chance they get. A man in the hospital who was almost paralyzed cheated on his wife right after getting out of the hospital and out of rehab. A woman will go out to a club and get shit faced drunk and end up sleeping with someone and then blame it on the alcohol as if they coudln't control themselves. You need to take time in finding out who you can trust and who you can love with your whole heart because there are so many heartless people out there.
