Love this! Makes me miss my younger days. I was a clog dancer for two former groups. The Stateline Stompers and The Klickkin Kloggers. We always had the best time!😃👍
This has got to be equivalent to running the Boston Marathon. Gets my Scot-Irish blood pumping! The hollering is as good as the dancing! I hear my dad mountain clogging up in heaven!
My goodness, I have a 6 year old daughter that I played this video for and she was over the moon! She wants to dance just like they do but I wouldn't even know where to begin, even here in Georgia! What fun!
The Stony Mountain Cloggers took the stage when the Charlie Daniels Band played “Orange Blossom Special” and Charlie Daniels played the fiddle like nobody’s business, Tom Crain launched into a fiery guitar solo and Joel “Taz” DiGregorio was tickling the ivories on the piano, and this was during their show at the Pensacola Civic Center in 1980. The Cloggers were fantastic! I don’t see where this collection of cloggers get their energy to go into their dance. If clogging was an Olympic competition, these men and women would get the gold! No questions asked!
I absolutely love these clogging videos! You're having the greatest fun. I really feel I've missed something wonderful. Fantastic music. If I was younger (75 now) I'd head straight to "clogging" country USA for a long stay and to share the joy. Perhaps even learn a little of the dancing. Wonderful! Thank you. Love from Midlands UK 🇬🇧
One more thing: the choreography was amazing, and the cloggers didn’t have much room on the stage. And to have to put on the show without any one of them falling off the stage. Oh yeah, there were quite a few empty seats. Most of the absent ones just don’t know what they missed.
There was a link to this from another video I was watching, and I intended to watch just a portion to get the flavor. But I stayed for the whole video. Great stuff. The dancers look like they're having a blast.
@@simsfairytales9589 Well, damnation!!!! My political incorrectness has come back and bit me on the ass. Not the same gender costumes, the same color gender costumes.
Competed against and with this team many times I the 80's, often filling in if a team member couldn't make the competition that weekend and my team wasn't doing a Hoedown. Paul was a lot of fun on stage and off.
@@melissatrevizo9806 that’s cute but we’re still very much alive today. Although the pandemic knocked us for a loop there’s still performances happening. There’s even more recent videos here on my account. ❤️
@@melissatrevizo9806 it is sadder now tho. I'm a clogger and travel all around for competitions but now there is way less bluegrass and it has turned quite pop doesn't have the same affect anymore. There is still a category for more traditional but it is quickly dying
At that time I think they were in their mid 20s or so. This video was made years ago. They are adults and now some of them have kids that are this age!
