Just wanted to make a quick note that (192 168 1 1) is not always the default router IP. I've had routers that were 0.1 and i know a few others that are completely different. Good tutorial otherwise.

Nice video, highly recommended buying a cheap workstation pc and installing all these small projects in docker containers. It's easier to manage and update.

Good video unfortunately I live in the UK and have 1 GB internet from BT using there bthub router and it will not allow changing the DNS. My landline phone also plugs into the router so my options are limited. My raspberry pi 4 and pi hole are set I think correctly. I even setup dchp via pi hole and did my best to disable it on the router but most of those settings are locked down by the bthub. I Have not been able to get pi hole working so far.

wats the point in adding a device in middle of two devices that has inferior clocks and slow memory, a ddr5 system with a browser plugin will 100% beat ur silly "solution" this only adds latency, hav fun tho 🐷🐖🐽

Latency is rarely a problem with DNS requests as they tend to be really slow generally. Assuming PiHole does any caching it would probably improve latency overall vs using remote DNS servers as is usual. You could use much more expensive hardware if you feel it is justified for your latency requirements of course, though you should probably do testing to see if it is actually gaining you anything and not just assume theoretical gains will be actual gains.

you install kali-whoami just in the CLI
