I just cut my hair in two places too, opposite sides on the crown of my head 😩 I'm so sad. But I'm working with it, just like you. I'm about to install locs also. I've never used the pre-made locs. But I'm considering trying this time after seeing this video ❤️
It’s such a heart breaking moment 🥺🥺 but it will grow back so I’m not worried about it! Definitely try it because it’s so much lighter and less stress lol
@@deepdarkcocoa7956 I’ve cut mine to but I want some more. Just do the regular crochet method where u do cornrows and maybe leave out one row in the front and do those individual to give more of a natural look if u want
Honey! I did the same thing removing my locs and in the same exact spot 🤦🏽♀️. I was so PISSED! I can laugh about it now but when I seen my plat fall on my shoulder.. I was done. Your hair came out looking really good though… makes me tempted but I think Im traumatized 😂

I just came across another way of installing the locs without hooking it into your braid. 1. Braid your hair midway. 2. As the bottom part of your hair is out, slide the crochet braid onto 1 of the 3 strands of the braid. 3. After adding the crochet braid to the 1 strand, continue to braid the rest of the hair WITHOUT the crochet braid. 4. Take the wrapping hair, crochet it through the base of the braid 5. Wrap the hair around the crochet braid until done. I found this method to be much easier when taking out the hair bc once you un-ravel the crochet hair, you can pull out the braid once you see it, then cut the crochet hair instead of your own. Just passing along a good tip!!

Very nice video. I did my hair before using s similar technique, BUT I didn't crochet the wrapping hair in. I just wrapped it 😕 In some place it slipped and in a lot of places it was too tight. I don't think I kept it more than 2 weeks (such a waste). Seeing your way makes me want to try again. Thanks!
This looks great. I am trying to build the courage to do this on myself. Has anyone ever experienced the hair unraveling after wrapping it? Does it typically stay wrapped?
It usually just stays wrapped but make sure you wrap the base as tight as you can possibly stand. And if you think it won’t stay wrapped at the ends you can use a little super glue or nail glue at the end of the hair before you wrap the ends.
