It is dangerous, there are nowhere near enough fixings in the ceiling. I've seen some very nasty accidents happen when inexperienced trades use the wrong fixings and too few of them. That light box could fall on a child's head.
Messenger Rising says the American. I guess we need some (union sponsored) laws to keep people from doing this themselves. Get the government involved, pay them to issue a permit before any diy projects are performed.
Zach B. is right !! !! Lets keep all aspects of our life in the hands of profiteers, and vicious, zelles controllers. I also want to add: " DON'T SEAT ON THE TOILET IF ITS INSTALLED BY YOURSELF but U can still watch it,... and wait for UNION and GOVERNMENT to come in and inspect those few bolts. Don't forget to PAY like $300 for the "inspection of Honorary Inspector and of course for Honorary Certificate!! ... until than go to McDONALD :))
Girl, wow,💪I'm so proud of you.i want something like this,it doesn't look too complicated but I know in my country they a going to charge me like I'm building a mansion🙆♀️.
if you make the frame smaller and your main board bigger you can add uplighting which will light up across your ceiling too so you can alternate lighting options
All I have to say is that this lady is FIERCE! She is GIVING it to me. You better install that dropped light box and show the boys how it is done! Oh...and just to add I am being told it can't be done. I can't wait to show my builders that it can!
thank you so much for sharing ! My kitchen has 3 fluorescent bulbs and if anyone could help with the electrical part I would greatly appreciate cz I want to start this project like....now! Thank you!
Are all ceilings strong enough to hold something like this? I know when mounting a tv to the wall you gotta look for the right place to drill behind the wall
I can’t imagine the structure of the new ceiling fixture weighing any more than 20 lbs. It’s only a few short pieces of metal stud, a small panel of Sheetrock, and those plastic connector things. So I think it’s safe to assume that a few drywall wall anchors (the plastic pieces she inserted into the ceiling at the beginning) would hold this up. Most wall anchors hold at least 10 lbs each, and it looks like she used at least 8. My biggest concern is that she had wire just dangling out of the ceiling. Electric wire, unless low voltage, needs to be run into and connected in a rated electrical box. Additionally, a box cannot be hidden behind drywall. An electric box in a wall or ceiling can only sit behind an appliance, such as a light fixture, switch, or receptacle (outlet). If the wire for the lighting is line voltage, this project is both a major national code violation and a fire hazard. However, If it’s only low voltage wire, it should be okay (unless her local building code says different).
@@matthewbaken7669in the UK we have wires which form the lighting circuit hanging from the ceiling at the point(s) where the light pendant or recessed downlights are to be fitted
Hey, your video is fabulous. I am about to move into a new house and am planning to install something similar in my kitchen. Those plastic corner elements work amazing. Where do buy and what are they called? I definitely want them!! Thanks.
So glad that I found your video! Nicely done! Instructions are very clear and well documented along the way. I have a question. Did you add strip lights along the edge? Or is all of the light coming from the 4 recessed lights only? Again, nice job!
