I save bedsheets and old shower curtains for painting. Old shower curtains help with bigger spills since they are moisture resistant Sometimes I'm a messy painted🙂

Quick tip for your paint tray put a plastic carrier bag over it then fill with paint when done turn it over on itself and no tray scrubbing it's turned out lovely we have just finished a almost black accent panelled wall 😀 x
Love it. I’ve been planning to do this in my hubby’s office. It’s been 8 years since painted. Time for a revamp. I’m going with Sherwin Williams “Peppercorn”. It’s a Charcoal/Grayish-Black. Selling a desk to purchase a better one. In the meantime we are decluttering, repairing holes, prepping walls. Got office stuff organized into small white bins. Searching for a Cricut Joy machine to do the finishing touches on those.
I literally finish to do a black accent wall in my room it looks so nice because it hides the tv seems like the screen is just in the wall and you can’t hardly see the trim of and my dresser at the bottom has been bleach it looks really nice, I love it

I've seen other DIYers do accent walls like this and it seems they use paintable grout along all the boards where it meets the wall. What do you think? Would that have made any difference to your wall? If not that sure would save a lot of time...right????
I feel like there needs to be more contrast between the wall and the feature. Like the slats should have been stained black instead of painted to allow for some wood grain texture to show through. I loved the way the office in the other house turned out. It was much more pronounced. But you did a job with it.

I feel like I still have a ton of cords for my computer and it’s not even in the center of the room it’s up against the wall and drives me crazy I wish it could look like yours!

You should totally do that in your office, maybe a flat grey with gold wood accents.....hmmm I really like that flat black, I'm trying to think of a project I could do with that or like i said...a flat grey. I discovered that using Frogtape gives you a much cleaner paint line than the regular painters tape!! ;) love the new wall. you guys are so creative with your home projects!
We have found that “one-coat” paints rarely actually cover well in one coat, especially very dark colors. We use graph paper to set up the design instead of “winging it”. Reminder: if you cut your own trim boards remember to sand the edges. It looks more professional and not so DIY.
