@scuffieduffie Cheers mate! There are a lot of exploded views of different airguns floating around on the internet... search and you will find! Anyway, it can be done very simple; the bolt is fitted with a "dog" that when the bolt handle is lifted rotates to a position where it grabs the front of the striker and pull it back when the bolt is pulled back... No vodoo or black magic involved.. thanks
@scuffieduffie Thanks for your input! If you type "diy bolt action air rifle" in the search field you'll find just what you are speaking about. You really don't need cnc machines to build stuff like this; old fashioned manual machines goes a long way.. thanks
@StealthDemon22 I actually have two barrels for this gun; one .22cal and one .177. Somehow the .177 seems to produce thighter groups so thats what i use most of the time. cheers
danke danke. you are a amazing at these buckly guns. i am still getting lathe lessons and saving money for my own lathe and hoping to be able to make the gun from the 2nd book. you have many fans in the world. are you from sweden
I found my old airgun ( spring) barrel back. It takes 5.5mm pellets and has nice a rifling :) I don't have a lath or anything but i am going to try it with ordinairy tools. beltsander, drill press.. that stuff. I already started on the valve pin. Becouse i cant turn a POM or PVC valve body i have to make that part from alu. but the valve pin is part rubber. At least i hope i can make it from alu. it would work a lot easier. but couse i cant turn thread im afraid that i have to go with steel.
Thanks for your comment. I'm not sure which gun you are referring to..; the sidelever operated one is rather hefty.. somewhere around 4,3kg scoped. The airtank is an aluminum item. In this case an old co2 bottle, with modified bottleneck valve and run at low pressure. I strongly recommend that you don't ever use co2 bottles for hpa applications! Use only designated HPA vessels with rated working pressure of 200Bar or more! Safety first.. thanks
Thanks Kevin!I use rifled barrels. Still haven't got around to make my own barrels...I have several small lathes, but my favourite is a Swedish made Southbend 9" clone. Probably around 70y/o but still works like a charm!thanks /O
I was just bragging on your work about 15 minutes ago, how strange.. haha anyhow, I have been searching for a good lathe and it seems the older ones are favored in machine shops. I'm sure you would do great with a barrel of your own, even it you only rifled only the last couple of inches. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for asking! Unfortunately i don't have the time needed to build you a gun... My "real" job is taking up way too much of my time at the moment. Anyway, i have noted your interest and if I for some reason suddenly would get a lot of time i'll drop you a line! best regards
@niksechtniks Thanks for watching and commenting my video! I wouldn't call myself a professional...; you haven't seen my scrap bin... there is a lot of stuff in there. Anyway, I've got two more guns already designed inside my head... I just need some extra time to build them! I have actually made a video on diy airgun trigger designs, but haven't got around to upload it yet... will hopefully do that in the next couple of days. thanks
Gentlemen, thanks for the kind words! I know this clip is rather cheesy... as you might notice english is not my native language... Have you guys got any ongoing projects? cheers
@MrTridad1 I wish i had the time my friend... The thing is that only do this kind of stuff as a hobby, and sometimes there just isn't any time left for hobbies.. Cheers
hi buddy what did you pay for the book? i already mailed mr buckley but i've heard he takes sometimes weeks for a response...just want to know the price...
@phonyization hi, don'r really remember... What i do remember ist that the first book ( the thick, blue one..) is somewhat more expensive than the second book ( The modern stock reservoir pneumatic...)... The second book is basically a blueprint, so a certain degree of understanding is needed in order to complete a build. Maybe there is a price stated on my friend Pedro's homepage, airgundevelopment(dot)com thanks
@krysks04 good to hear from you again K! Hopefully I'll be visiting my parents somewhere in a few weeks time, and hopefully i can shoot some 50 and 100m groups. Cheers /O
hello friend how much you charge to do the second weapon shown in your video and send to Brazil in the state of Minas Gerais to the zip 37550000? grateful
Woulden't it be a challange to build a gun with one bolt? one that loads a bullet and cocks the hammer that hits the valve at the same time? I dont have any CNC machines. that sucks.
FelixQ , Don’t get too bummed out about not having CNC equipment to use. There can be quite a brutal learning curve. A computer control has no brain. It just goes where you tell it to go, even if it is not where you wanted it to go. CNBC machine tools can break tools and scrap parts faster than would care to see. Then the big ones can knock things all over hell, and your repair bills can be expensive. I have been through a lot of these things, both at work, and in my shop at home. From what I can see of a pcp rifle there would be little advantage to programming a machine to do this type of work. A good engine lathe, with a good tight four jaw chuck, and a face plate will let you make a lot of parts. People shy away from a four jaw chuck due to a lack of practice and understanding.
@TheRubberducky911 Sorry for not replying earlier! I guess you are referring to the stock reservoir rifle? That gun is designed by Mr HM Buckley, and therefore i can not give away or sell the blueprints.. but the good thing is that Mr Buckley sells books on diy airgun building! If you buy a book from him you'll get a very detailed blueprint, far better than any blueprint i have ever done... I'll Pm you Mr Buckleys email adress. Thanks
Hi Ola! I like yours guns, they are very nice looking.. maybe you will can show us how they shoots at 50,100 or maybe more meters? I will be watch it with a pleasure. Regards ! Krys
