This is a detailed video on how to make a DIY Automated Shotgun Fruiting chamber. With these items installed onto your current SGFC you can you can easily maintain humidity and fresh air exchange. Eliminating the need to spray daily and possibly moving the bin to much causing veils to break prematurely. If you enjoy please Like, Subscribe, And Share. Thanks for watching! More to come soon!

Thanks for sharing this video, I am constructing my automated fruiting chamber while waiting for my spawn to colonize. I will be using a small fan with a timer set to turn on 2 to 3 times a day for 30 seconds, then run my reptile humidifier to cycle on a timer for about 30 seconds after each fan cycle. I am planning on dialing this in before adding my grow bag cakes. This video has given me hope. As theres not alot about automating a SGFC. Work scheduele lately leaves me with very little time for my new hobby. Again thanks for sharing.

Could I set the fan on for 10seconds every 20 minutes, followed by the humidifier set for 10 seconds every 20 minutes, would this process workout by not using a humidity controller

Can you make a video showing how you make your mushroom spawn bags?

Hello I do apologize that I haven’t been posting more. Life has been a little busy. I don’t make bags I usually purchase them if I use them. I have started making my own grain jars to bulk tho. And agar. I do plan on making videos on how I do that soon as well. I’m also going to be doing some other grow videos for other Medicinal plants soon too. As well as some videos about hiking, backpacking, and foraging for mushrooms in the CO mountains.

@@mountainsmushroomsandmaryj6 I am actually also at a point where I want to explore agar and make my own grain jars. I would love to see videos about how to make grain jars and agar

@@UCMan99 I just posted a video about the supplies you’ll need to do agar, liquid culture, and spawn jars. I’m waiting for a few more supplies for my jars to do the grain for you guys. They should be here this week. In the mean time I will be filming how to do agar at home this week and releasing by next weekend. So you can gather your supplies in the mean time and purchase some spores of your choosing and follow me thru the steps if you’d like 😊 I plan on making agar tuesday, Inoculating the agar Wednesday, and showing you the growth within a week. From there the supplies should be in to make the Liquid Culture and Spawn jars. At that point I’ll show how to make both of those. We’ll grow the culture for a couple weeks and then inoculate the grain spawn. Once that’s fully colonized we’ll go to bulk in shoe boxes. Hope to have you along for the journey!

Can you explain agar and the grain please?

@@mountainsmushroomsandmaryj6 I am new to this and i don't understand why you need agar, grains, or liquid culture when you have spores? Where is a good place for info?

Does the bottom of the chamber ever leak?

Some perlite does fall out sometimes. Especially if you move it around. I usually put a towel on top of my spawn box which is just below the SGFC to catch any perlite. It also helps maintain the temp in the spawn box. Beyond that if you’re not using a humidifier you should only be spraying the inside enough to leave water droplets on the walls of the SGFC. No need to soak the chamber or the block. Just trying to maintain 80-90% humidity with fresh air exchange in order for the mushrooms to fruit.

Will the humidifier bring in fresh air too so you don’t have to have the fan ?
@mountainsmushroomsandmaryj6
It’s more about getting the old stale air out and drawing fresh air in at the same time. Although I have found I don’t need the fan much with the number of holes I put in the bin. Next time I’ll do way less holes because it’s hard to maintain 85-90% humidity with the amount of holes I put . I might just switch to shoebox teks all together. Less bulky and can do more strains at one time with the space I have. I’ve been having more success with them lately also. I started doing all my own grains too. But I’ve been working two jobs so haven’t had much time to film as I have my daughter during my off time.

@@mountainsmushroomsandmaryj6 I am building a fruitingchamber like this, just with 6x 1" holes with microporous filters, no fan. It fits 3 shoebox size. That way I can inoculate more boxes outside the fruitingchamber and add them to the right climate for fruiting.
