This DIY Barn Door tutorial is easy! This video will show you how to build a barn door with a simple construction! This DIY sliding door has a modern style that will match most design tastes and is not an overly farmhouse barn door. You can definitely handle this project -- you just might need a friend to help you install the barn door (at least in my case, my husband had to lead the way on the installation, as I built mine for a 10' tall doorway and it is HEAVY!)
The instructions I am giving you are assuming a barn door width of 37", which is pretty standard. Please make sure you determine if 37" is the appropriate width for your doorway before making your wood cuts =)
My barn door is 10' tall, but your door can be whatever height you choose, up to 10'! Just measure your desired height and plug it into my formulas down below.

Semi-gloss is ideal for bathroom/kitchen areas.
Mine was a custom mix:
Benjamin Moore Paint in "Miramichi" but substitute all white in the mix for black.
