offset smoker build bbq pit, cook chamber is 20'75"x40" long, firebox is 20.75"x20", wheels are 16" but i keep em clean! everything is made of 1/4" except the door straping which is 1/8th. the stack is 4.5 diameter. thanks for watching!!
I've been quality control for industrial metal fabrication my whole career and I'm normally pretty critical of guys doing these dyi fabrication project. I think you did an amazing job on this. Simple but very well executed.
That was my thoughts exactly .... I was impressed by your torch skills definitely not his first rodeo I've seen people cut worst lines with a plasma cutter and a straight edge
I am very impressed with how you use the torch to cut freehanded, especially cutting circles and shapes. Great job building! Thanks for sharing the build and show us how you cook!
It was just amazing watching you make this pit. True artistry! I wish I had your skills but Thanks for giving us the enjoyment of a true craftsman at the top of his game. You could sell these without a doubt. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this and a Master Welder at work, Thanks for the pleasure!
Wow, a buddy and me were literally just coming up with the idea of building a smoker like this and I decided to check RU-vid for ideas and this is pretty much spot on what we were going for. Thank you so much!
Your cutting torch skills are impressive! I made the jump to plasma years ago, but was never even close to that good with oxy/acetylene. The damper is genius, too.
Christopher Zawistowski thanks man, I’d like to have a plasma but theres always something else to spend money on! Haha that’s how it goes, sometimes just gotta use what you got.
Great job , I built my offset 15years ago and I love it saw it in Texas told myself I’ve got to have one.Need a grate for your wood and coals to burn on to save you offset and gets better air flow .
Excellent video! I grew up welding and working metal as a part of my fathers business. We always did project builds and grills were often one of those projects. The way we kept the metal from springing was to do partial cuts first and weld the hinges on, then we cut the rest afterwards. Also its easy to see that you know your way around a welder and a torch! Only someone who has been using a torch for years could cut lines that smooth. Same could be said about your welds. I tell people if you have to use a grinder to make your welds look good you're a grinder and not a welder. Great job again thanks for sharing.
TheArchangel1906 thanks man, I don’t have extensive experience on a cutting torch. It’s what I have to work with so I learned how to use it. This type of stuff its totally hobby for me. I don’t weld, grind, or cut for a living. These are hobby grade skills. Thanks for the kind words my friend.
Love your skills! There's nothing better than that sound of your MIG gun when you have your heat dialed in. That's a fine looking smoker! You'll have decades of great food coming from that.
It is SO nice to see someone who knows how to do stuff right. The design is perfect, it just screams quality. The torch work and welding was spot on. Kudos. Now it's my turn to finish my build.
That was one of the best builder videos I’ve seen not so much in every aspect of the build but in the way that you did it. I enjoyed watching every minute of it
Good sense of humor. This makes me want to sign up for welding classes at comm college across town and get better. Seriously. You did a nice job. I haven't touched a torch or welder in forever.
You must work for UPS! Time is money! Well job done at your smoker. I want to be where you are at for fabrication and tool selection. Just go a Lincoln tombstone welder!
im always designing stuff in my head and one of my favorite things to build is a smoker. i like your design, and choice of materials. they look to be able to hold up over time and lots of heat cycles. im curious of you considered putting a slide on the bottom that you can pull out and drop your ashes from fire box. just a thought. otherwise, i like the build, great skill with a torch. look forward to seeing what else you come up with. good job Erocks Garage!
I build stuff in my head too. Have already thought up the ultimate Rocket stove with larger combustion chamber with improved air flow (even fan forced turbo), ash drawer removal whilst still cooking and making multiple attachments for the top including flat plate, open grille, Wok Burner, pizza oven and smoker. Flat plate and open grill would take Webber Q plates, pizza oven and smoker would be smaller pre bought ones and made to attach to the top. Also Water boiler chimney attachment. Watching many how to make you tube vids does this. Only thing is now I have to make the damn thing, LOL.
@@mrslam49 On flat surfaces you can use an angle iron as a guide, helps keep the lines tight. Going around a tube, tho, I dunno. Anything flexible enough to conform to the curve would just melt.
omg... that's amazing. I need one of these. I have a bunch of different sized pressure water tanks. Not as big as that one, but should be able to fumble something together. Great video.
Erocks Garage well from your video I can see that you would change the placement of the temp gauge. Lol but the craftsmanship is awesome. I’m looking to buy a smoker. Would it be less then 3,000 or more?
Erocks Garage I would def be willing to buy that same one with your changes if your willing to make one. Depending on where you are located. I am in Houston Texas
Erocks Garage well if your willing to experiment on a new one with whatever changes you wanted to do. I would be willing to pay ya. Your smoker is awesome.
If you know how to cook, it doesn't matter what kind of smoker you use, like the Rock said ( If you want to smell what the Rock is cooking ) good stuff.
Great job. Watching u reminds me of how my dad does all his builds. No diagrams or blueprints just experience and skill. Great job. I'm jealous along with everyone else I'm sure.
When mad skills meet up with a hunger for Brisket . Awesome video and build, you better make sure you have some great grand kids because thing will be around forever.
Nice work. You should be very proud of this. I like that you made the firebox door open all the way to the bottom, which makes it real easy to remove ash.
thats one fine BBQ / smoker. bang up job and a great video, and your right some of that stuff is just hard to film but its just fine.great job.the fabrication is beautiful hope to see it painted.
I just built on my channel a Tail Gating Grill. I love to weld as a hobby and wish more people would try it. I really need a garage to keep my material clean and out of the rain.Awesome video.
What a way to serve your customers for your garage. As they stop by and check on vehicle’s.... I can’t imagine how much it would cost to sell this grill. I can see people enjoying the food off this grill. Great Job!!!!
