When you got the paint did you just use your paint code from van? I have a similar colored k5 and I’m only wanting to do a portion in raptor and the rest in the same color paint
What an amazing job, I love it. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to fill and explain through your materials. I got an Ford 1971 Econoline and I wasn't sure if I could do this but now I am. Thanks!
A lot of work.... I can't believe you didn't hammer out that dent in the front fender, you could have gotten that to look a lot better even if not perfect - Thanks for making the video, a lot of us want to do this, too - Overall it turned out real well, good job
Well. I had a super long and amusing comment all typed out, but then RU-vid decided to jump to a commercial which caused me to click on something and go to a whole other video and it wiped out my entire comment. That really ticks me off! The gist was Jessie laughed at you calling it a sh**house and me never imagining that I would call an outhouse fancy 😆It really did turn out so pretty and I love it (yeah that sounds a little weird to say).
This was extremely thorough and helpful!! Thank you for taking the time to make a video on it. We bought a 92 Econoline and are likely going to be doing the same. Appreciate all the info!
Your demonstration of how you "bedlined" your vehicle is the most useful presentaion on the topic I have come across in my extensive U-tube research. Obviously, it holds a particular appeal to owners of vintage vans. In my case, your guidance has persuaded me to modify my bedliner project. I have decided to attempt a more subtle paint texture on my 1995 turtle-topped, extended Dodge B3500. I intended to pull the trigger on the spray painting today. However, based on your input, I have decided to do some additional sanding, increase the air compressor output and see if I can duplicate your texture results. Thanks again for your down to earth, comprehensive guidance .
Enjoyed your video...noticed your bi mart receipt.. and Oregon plate, the whole van life is crazy up here in Oregon. I just sold my 1990 E150 going to do this to my next VAN. thanks for your help. Im from North Bend but live in Sandy now. Great job buddy
Wanting to do this on my hightop g20 was just going through videos and I stumble on this. Same rig except mines 4x4 thanks for the inspiration I live the two tone!!
Looking sharp! The work on the grill really paid off. I had to rewatch the after footage to notice the front driver fender damage. When do we get to see some camping?
Thank you for this video, man. I have an '88 GMC Vandura with flaking and weathered paint and was looking for a cost-effective solution to give it a fresh look. This is fantastic to me because you basically have the same van. Thanks again and sick van!
Great video! Could you post the what and where for the shelter you used for your van? I have a 1986 RAM B250 and will need a good shelter for her as I work on her. Thank you!
Phenomenal paint job. I am getting ready to do my van a tan raptor color and black for the front and rear numbers. The lower portion of the van wheel area will be black all the way down. May I ask why you waited an hour and then 3 days? I have seen a few videos where they wait 20 minutes and apply a second coat. Were 3 days necessary before you started the blue coat? Great looking van. It shows you took your time.
Thanks for showing that you can match the OEM color. Now my options are limitless... thought I was going to have choose from black, green, or tan. So how has the white held up? I heard that color gets dingy over time?!
You did this outside in the sun? I would want to have someone supervise that knows what they are doing. Just curious how long start to finish? Was there a ton of overspray? I really want this done but don’t want to pay someone $3000 to $6000…
Thanks for the great video. Alot of work put into the video, let alone the paint job. Thanks for taking the time to do it! I have a 1989 G20 and I'm interested in the type of headlights you have. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
@@DonnieDispersed thanks for the reply! How long have you had them? Any issues? Pros/cons? Found your channel this morning looking up raptor liner. Going to do my van as well. Subscribed!
@@finball70 I’ve had them for a few months now. I love them. The low beam projector has a great beam cutoff and the high beam reflector lens is very bright especially for halogen bulbs. I tried some led bulbs in the projectors and they weren’t nearly as good as the halogens they came with.
Hey! Very helpful video! My wife and I will be raptor lining our '73 chevy van 20 (looks just like this, with the topper as well!) and we are curious as to how many cans of primer you ended up using? Thanks!
Nice job. I've been thinking about raptor painting my white Vixen camper van but was concerned about how easy it is to keep the white part of the body clean. Do you wash it like you would a normal car? Does the dirt cling to the textured surface more than it would a smooth surface? How has the finish weathered over the last two years? And finally, any impact on gas mileage?
