When I went down to El Paso to build the fence for my daughter I bought myself the Kreg Track System for cutting long straight cuts on the three 5 foot by 5 foot gates I built. I actually had to buy an extra set of tracks because they come with 4 feet of track and it wasn't enough length. It was the best money I've ever spent and it even works for plywood.

I would add a metal sheet under the grill on top of the plywood. For grease spills cleanup. Could you add heavy duty drawer slides to the grill to slide out for grease clean out .
@TKCL
@TKCL 2 года назад
The bottom will be tile for cleanup. I think the grill will be left unmounted to be able to pullout. But the hinges is a interesting idea 🤔🤔🤔
@donaldslate4195
@donaldslate4195 2 года назад
Grill will be heavy to slide out but the drawer slides mounted to the grill and the 2x4’s. That way you can work, clean around the grease pan. Nice setup. Though I would and more drawers to the right of the grill.

I hope the heat doesn’t cause the wood to spontaneously combust under the tile. Blackstones grills can get 700+ degrees and while Ceramic tile will be a heat shield but if it reduces it 300 degrees. It still in range for wood to combust without direct contact with flame.

I'm sorry for being european, but is this what a typical american has in his garage when it comes to power tools? You have a LOT of tools, and not just your basic ones either. Plus the yard and everything, but... how much is that in tools and equipment? $30-50k ?
@TKCL
@TKCL Год назад
Your looking at a lifetime of collecting tools, hand me downs from parents, grandparents and friends. Plus I try to do everything myself, those tools have more than paid for themselves. I just built my entire home by myself. The typical person pays someone to do this for them, in the long run that costs many many times what my tools do.
@emilsmadvlogs5879
@emilsmadvlogs5879 3 месяца назад
I heard a tip once.. buy the cheapest tool set with everything in it, replace the tools that break with high quality, more expensive ones, that way you have quality in what you actually use and you don't break the bank buying expensive tools you won't use. When I get my own place, thats what I'll be doing at least. Also hello, fellow European

That's not making sense you did frame from treated wood plywood not.and that gup is way to small under plywood
@TKCL

You can't tile over treated plywood. It's wet, dries, twists and bows. Gurateed tile problems. That's why I completely waterproofed and sealed the plywood with a waterproof membrane.

Really enjoyed the video, and I apologize if you added the link, but do you have a link for the panel bit used?

Hi Andrew I am in the process of trying to get an inexpensive Outdoor kitchen area done. The panel boards that you used were these from Home Depot? Is it the same as Plywood Siding Plybead Panel 11/32 x 4’x8’? That’s the only similar looking board I am seeing on Home Depot sight. Thanks for your help
@TKCL
@TKCL Год назад
I got them from Lowe's. It's 4 inch on center paneling similar to what you described. Must be coated in a good exterior paint and out of the majority of the severe weather. Otherwise I'd go with a fiber cement siding board.

hi Andrew. Thanx for the inspiration. What is the name of the tool that you use to cut out the holes in the boards with?

That was a router and I used what's called a panel bit in it

Whose panel trim bit you use? I noticed it had a tip that will pierce through the panel.

It was a Bosch panel bit.

Hi Andrew, just curious, how ate you going to paint the bottom edges of the plywood panels? I know you are leaving a gap for air, etc., but won't that bottom edge near the ground possibly be exposed?
@TKCL
@TKCL 2 года назад
I should have painted before, but I can slip a brush under there. I plan to scrub the concrete near the cabinets and not blast it with a pressure washer. Worst case scenario I trim that section out and put a thick 1x4 pt trim board there later on.

I've honestly been seeking a diy tutorial for this exact thing and last night...this popped up on my news feed. I just purchased a Blackstone and there ISN'T another video that demonstrates how to install one in an outdoor kitchen. I just completed my frame and am waiting for your next video for next steps! Thanks Man!

good DIY project! I just wonder if you had any experience with mice infestation underneath outdoor kitchen, we would love hear it, outside kitchen is kind of a challenge to prevent wild animals and mice out of the nice kitchen.

None yet, but outdoor spaces like this are subject to visits by rodents. That's why everything in the cabinets are in sealed containers.

Curious as to how much of a gap you left around the Blackstone and how you feel like it performs after a while?
