This is absolutely fantastic! The workmanship you put into that system is top-notch. I'm particularly excited to see the detail you put into the 'how to connect to the starting battery of a Promaster' section on this build. I have not seen that part documented on a promaster as clearly as you showed in this video and I'll definitely be referring people to that section specifically when I get asked about that topic. Lauren, this was a MIC Drop Video. You gave me the confidence to give this a try on my own. I'm at the beginning of my Van Search, but it will be a ProMaster. The knowledge that you have provided for non-professionals is just immeasurable. The only thing I would do differently is hire an electrician to check my work before I flip the switch.

I’m a nerd for instructional videos and I’ve been an avid RU-vid self learner for over a decade. Hands-down this is the absolute best, most thorough and comprehensive, organized and helpful instructional video I have ever seen; on any subject anywhere. I have no idea what your career involves, but you are a brilliant instructor. Much like myself, you leave no stone unturned in your explanation. I can really appreciate that and I can say also that very few people are able to accomplish that level of clarity. I’m not a pro master or a sprinter person. I’m still good with my 87 Westfalia, nonetheless I was enthralled with your video and could not stop watching. I ended up learning a lot about wiring. And that comes from a guy who’s been doing low-voltage wiring for 30 years, for what that’s worth lol. I hope you will continue to make videos for a very long time on a wide variety of subjects. I know that I will always learn from them.

Don't forget security for your expensive system should be the 1st thing you do, great idea with those rubber strips where the wires go in and out, definitely easy to overlook those kind details, thanks for the reminder

Let me Just say as a 240 volt licensed electrician and solar installer from Australia 🇦🇺🦘🪃you have done a great job from start to finish and the instructions you have given were invaluable to those who have not done this before. This is a really well done video! I watched side-by-side with Nate's video as I did my install and it was really helpful having 2 different people explain the same thing. The best part was how well you explained and showed installing the DC2DC in a Promaster. I have seen tons of dye electrical system installation. But never seen such a detailed and neat work like yours. I wish your video can help me do the same system for my boat. Wow! This is great! I have ALL the same exact equipment, the same number of Battleborn batteries, Lynx distributor, 100/50 charge controller, Multiiplus...even the same van (ProMaster)! The only difference is the solar panels we chose. Finally a system build I can follow to the letter. Thanks SO much for making this video!

Amazing! Explorist Life was the video I used to install 110 outlets from my interverter ( which was already attached to the battery) I was amazed that I was able to do it and that it actually worked. Top notch teacher from Explorist life and his prodigy Lauren who is teaching me how to wire my whole Van. Excellent!!!!!

Very good instructions so that some who hesitates to even try may now also be able to do this kind of things! One thing I used to do different is that if you use a locknut, you can leave it without a lock washer. And one thing that amazes me in all of this kind of installations is that how much they really take space! Too much, and weight too! 👍

Thank you for the comment! In a moving vehicle there is a lot of vibration and the chance of connections becoming lose over time. Therefore having a lock nut and lock washer provides added confidence in those connections and is done in accordance with the manuals. The system can take up space but is worth it for someone like myself who will be living in the van full time and wants the normal conveniences of a home. Thankfully I did get lithium batteries to help save on weight as compared to other options like gel or AGM batteries and I purchased a van with enough payload😁

Only about $300 and at the end of the day I didn’t need them all. So if you are on a limited budget, there are some tools you can do without.

youve worked this video out very thoughtfully and made it very easy to understand. i noticed you showed 4 different ways to tie in the battery bank and diagonally is the only way to go, it makes the batteries work together, charges them equally and loads them just the same. before i became an rv tech i was diesel tech and this is how we wired our banks together. you will gain maximum MCA or CCA from the batteries. there is a downside though the batteries will wear down togehter and when it comes time to replace them, they all will need replacing but this is offset by the fact you will gain a much longer life out of them.

Thanks for the great video. You don't need the excess wire from the positive of the battery, the bank would still be balanced as the travel length for the electrons to each battery would still be the same for all the batteries.

GREAT VIDEO! MAYBE EVEN GOAT for van life builds. I used to work for fortune 500 semiconductor company (Dont' want to say which) but this video was MUCH high quality and more educational training videos we got. Great job Lauren! You should legit add to / edit this video as needed and try to sell it to them. I think a lot of companies would buy it in a second.
