I was tired of little cheap scratchers, so built my own massive one that will last!

You can buy all sorts of scratchers/ scratching posts online for cats. While most are fairly good and will work fine for your cat for a while, I wanted to DIY my own. This post is 2.5 feet tall and is built like a tank! It's super sturdy and is tall enough for most cats! If you have a really big cat, you can widen the base and make the most even taller! I was really pleased with how easy it was to tack the sisal rope on the post as well. Thanks for watching!
The tutorial I somewhat followed:
www.dreamalitt...
Things you'll need:
1/2 to 1 inch plywood, 18+ inch square,
~100ft of sisal rope. I used bigger, but 1/4" thickness should work
-hammer
-trim nails (little thin ones)
-screws
-drill
-drill bits (maybe)
-wood glue
-rug or mat
-some way to cut your wood pieces
-box cutter to cut your rug or mat
-pencil/sharpee
prettier version
-Piece of trim long enough to go around your base's perimeter
- 4x4 decorative cap
