Hi everyone! I really excited for this project - a checkered, crochet tote bag perfect for spring and summer. This took a while to make, but was definitely worth the effort :)

Ahh this looks so good and professional! I've been kind of in a slump with knitting and crochet (after spending many days making something that ended up way too big haha), but this makes me want to create again! :)

hey! depending on what fabric you used you might be able to shrink your project :) if not, try selling it!! always makes me happy to see others wear my creations, even though i wish i could keep them all❤️

Ohhhh!! I've loved this video. I've been looking for a video that explain how to crochet this bags that are all over Pinterest. I am going to try to do it 😅😅😅 but i started with crochet un February soooo.... 🤯 Also now i'm knitting that chunky blue cardigan with white clouds (from Myracle Handmade) that i've seen lately in Instagram and i want to crochet that clouds and sew them to the cardigan. Yarn has different sizes called ply. A 1-3 ply is very thin, 4 is medium aka worsted weight and then there are thicker ones after that. I’m assuming she’s using a 4 ply

for the chain is it 95 +1 or just 95??? i am very new to this lol

You don’t count the slip knot, so just 95😊

I don't know how - as I followed along with the video - but my last square of the first row seems to only be 3 stitches long?? Am I missing a step?! I did ch95 and sc into the second stitch from the hook followed by 4 more, changed colour etc. Have done it twice and can't work out where I'm going wrong!

It depends how tight you crochet and what type of yarn you use. I haven't finished mine yet but the pieces seem pretty sturdy and I don't think they will stretch a lot.

Hi! If you use a smaller sized hook the stitches will be smaller and therefore more dense/the bag will be slightly smaller :)

If you want your bag to be thight than you have to use a small hook but if you want your bag to be loose than you have to use a big hook.

Sure! Then you would probably have to compensate by removing some stitches - depending on what size you want 😊

Hi, I have crochet hooks ranging from 3.5 - 5 mm, will the size of the bag differ if I use my 3.5 mm hook? Do you have any measurements on how long and wide each part should be so that I get the same result? 💜

Hi! Yeah, it will be a bit bigger it you follow the recipe and use a bigger hook. The measurements are: Width of rectangular piece = 32cm Height of rectangular piece = 27cm Length of the straps = 36cm Hope it helps!❤️
