Love it ❤️ You can use a concrete releasing spray to the inside of your molds before your pour to help remove the mold.

@@Mienxy26 I used Rapid Set Cement All. I put a link in the description for the cement I bought. It will last forever. I've already made 48 vessels and still not even through half the box.

Love this! Thanks for this video. 1 question, is the polycrylic seal that you apply at the end safe for candle burning? And do you also apply it to the outside?

After testing several types of seal coat, I have found that Earth Safe Finishes has been the best so far. You can also apply it to the outside if you prefer that look and an added sealer as well :) I'll be posting up another updated concrete candle making video this week, so make sure you are subscribed :)

Love these...💯❤!!! But how do you burn wax in them safely when sealing with poly?? I get its water based but... its Not dangerous??

Thanks for watching. Make sure that the wick you have does not go over the diameter of the vessel. I keep it just under so it doesn't over heat the walls of the vessel and still creates a nice pool and still melts evenly down.

@@MalenasCreations Hi there; the wick kit that you noted on your comments does not mention size diameter info. By the look from the link, the wicks shown on amazon seem different from the ones you used on the candle making video. I'm having such a hard time wicking this size container. I am also using GB 464 soy wax. I love your creations and am excited to join and subscribe.

@@elizabethcantu5265 Hey there, thanks for watching! The wick kit I included is really just to test out different wicks to see what works best for your vessels. I have found that the wooden wick co has the best wicks for the specific size vessels. You can add what size diameter your vessel is on their site and they will recommend what wick to use. Hope this helps :)

No, I do not use any oil.

how would you color it one solid color? mix while mixing the cement?

I would recommend using a concrete pigment powder to make it a solid color or maybe a mica powder. I find that the concrete gets too thick when I add the liquid color to it so that's why I only swirl it in.

What is the trick with the paint? Do I need special paint. I use regular acrylic paint and after drying the paint leaves me with small holes and paint is it 100% dry. Thanks

I've tried several different brands of acrylic and if you have a thicker paint it will cause that problem. Try either watering down the paint just a bit or find another brand that isn't so thick.

I absolutely LOVE your videos! Have you experienced HT issues with your concrete vessels? I using wood wicks 4-.625-5 with these cylinder concrete vessels and it seems like the HT is very weak. Can you tell me your experiences with your concrete vessels?

Thanks so much, Dianne!! I stick to 10% FO load and haven't had too much HT issues. I will say in some FO's I have had that issue before.

I try to wait about a day or two until I add the wax. Sometimes I get caught up on something else and it's been over a week.

How much cement do you use for 1/4 C of water?

I've never measure it. I add a little at a time until I get the right consistency. It's a lot more than the water, maybe about 2 cups.

Are you using Cement All? If so, you may have added too much water. I've never had that problem before. They are very strong.

Are you referring to the oil that seeps through to the outside? If so, I haven't had any issues. I seal coat the inside two times.

I called the manufacturer of the sealant you used because i have been looking for a sealant as well... they say it's not to be used near flame or heat.

Hi and thanks for watching! I have tested these candles for several hours of heat and have had no issues. I also use 100% soy wax so my wax doesn't get as hot as other waxes with additives in it. Also don't use a wick that goes over the vessel diameter. I hope this helps :) I'm in the process of using a new eco friendly sealer for my new fall and winter collection that should withstand 212 deg heat.
