Converting a BMX star nut compression system to a 24x1.5mm compression bolt. This allowed me to use the threaded compression bolt system without having to buy a new set of forks.
Nice, with such great machines you can make so much custom things! I believe this was a simple convertion possible to make without such gears. Great conversion.
Man this was fucking genius. Funny youre working with a Stolen. My main rider has been a 2011 Stolen Score. Bought a 2022 Spade and swapped out the stem to an NOS red convict stem to match the bike but do not like the fact that the bike doesnt have the thread for the vortex compression bolt. Anyway, Stolen rep literally told me today "nope. Not possible to convert it, gonna have to buy a new fork. We'll have them in Sep" I knew that was bullshit. And now here I am watching this video. Great stuff, seriously.
Awesome!! Thank you!! It was much harder than I expected. Thank you on the power tapping. Cutting the threads would have been ideal. I have to fix the gearbox on this lathe.
@@KuehlEngineering Thread Cutting with a Lathe tool would be a lot easier for sure. But at least you got the job done. Yes trying to hold thin wall material while your cutting can definitely be a challenge.
