This is so good! I'm trying to design a good jumpscare sound for my shortfilm, I'd love to see a video where you go through the theory of jumpscare sounds

Thanks Elias! Jumpscares would be a fun one to explore. Are you thinking the scream kinda jumpscares?

@@rarefindssound sure but there’s so many different types of sounds one could use to create a good jumpscare and I feel like there’s a lot to explore there. I think one could use more elegant and interesting sounds than just human screams in order to create shock. Thanks for answering!

very helpful thank you! I wished to see the settings of compressor and limiter tho. Why you needed a limiter after compressor? and how you treat dynamics on compressor. Not just for this sound but in general I would be happy to see post edit video

Hey Yusuf. I use a limiter after the compressor just to make sure it doesn't clip on the channel. The compressor helps to bring the lower volume sound up closer to the highest volume of the sound. The limiter is then bringing up the whole volume of the channel. It completely differs with each sound. I mostly play it by ear. I hope that helps and is clear. Cheers!
