This video was super helpful to me. I have a step van with a 80le tranny with a 6.5 diesel and two grill mounted transmission coolers, I haven't been able to find replacement lines for the current ones, this looks like a good path forward. Have you had any issues with the lines?
I would suggest compression fitting for.metal to metal lines cause for my 4l60e rebuild in my 03 suburban i used some 3/8 trannny line and on my 2nd test drive at 10pm in the rain one of the rubber hose ripped open spitting out all the tranny fluid all over my exhaust i was lucky that i had some compresssion fittings lay around in the truck literally pieced back my tranny line on the side of the road in the dark rain etc but nomore worry about any rubber lines at all and the compression fitting is so easy to install too.. My line split open right at the flare i put on the line
Thanks, this is good advice. I did a bit more googling and apparently I should be using actual hydraulic hose and compression fittings like you recommended. I will do that before final assembly.
Good video... But what did you put a turd LS in that old Mopar for eeeeeerrkkkkkkkk just messing with you it's cool all together putting a whole classic back on the road and making it roadworthy again and with some boost to boot cool Factor Way high
I recently put in a new radiator. 2001 grand cherokee laredo 4.0 6 cyl. I also put in new steel lines on the radiator, but I don't know which skinny rubber hose they connect back to . does it matter ( seems to me it does) so would the upper radiator line connect with the upper skinny hose on transmission line and lower line with lower? The trans oil cooler lines that are held in place much like a brake line that then has 2 skinny rubber hoses. Please reply Help a girl out
Yeah, they would connect as you describe. It won't hurt anything to get them wrong though - you're still sending fluid through the radiator to get cooled.
