Hey everyone! Welcome to my DIY Dining Room Table Makeover video! I found this beautiful solid oak table for sale for $60!! I did a little DIY and refinished this table and it's gorgeous! It really goes with my newly renovated Modern Farmhouse kitchen now! It's a beautiful farmhouse table and I show you step by step how I refinished it! This really is a beautiful find! It's so exciting to make it your own! Great job! I have a rug under my table big enough the chairs don't need pads. I had them before but they do come off. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much! I used to have a rug under my kitchen table but it drove me crazy vacuuming all the crumbs off the rug! lol. We have always used the felt pads but so far we've never had a problem!! Have a great evening!

Dana, your refinishing and painting are fabulous!!!!!!!! I think a big round rug would look great under the table. I just am not crazy about the white on the table and the chairs are kind of dressy for farmhouse. Everything is beautiful but kind of not suited as one cohesive look . God bless, Patty S.

You just got right in there and went for it. I know it is work. the sanding of the oak is my favorite.The wood grain !! and the chairs are very rich and sets it off. Just think if you had to hire someone to redo the cabinets and the table. WOW! your time and expertise is worth a lot. Now you can have fun with all your buy's. What is next?? later Joyce

HI DANA TABLE TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL NOW LET ME TELL YOU I HAVE THE SAME TABLE BOUGHT IT LIKE IN 83 THE TOP ALONE WAS 1000 CAN NOT REMEMBER WHAT BOTTOM WAS AN THE CHAIRS WERE LIKE 530 AN YOU ARE RIGHT SO HEAVY AN THE CHAIRS I CAN BARELY MOVE THEM WE STILL HAVE IT KEEP IT IN FAMILY ROOM THEY DO NOT MAKE THEM LIKE THAT ANY MORE MY BOY JUST TOLD ME HE WANTED IT WHEN WE NO LONGER DO THE TOP NEEDS TO BE REDONE LOTS OF USE OVER THE YEARS SO JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW YOU GOT A GOOD DEAL AN THAT BABY WILL BE AROUND FOREVER YOU DID SUCH A NICE JOB CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU PUT ON IT SO KEEP SAFE AN HAVE A GOOD WEEK SENDING HUGS DIANE FROM IOWA

Oh Dana..... LOVE LOVE LOVE. !!! The table - phenomenal job ! Those chairs....JEALOUS! LOL!!! I can’t wait to see what you do next! How do you like your felt pads on the chair feet? I have the worse time with mine. Either changing them 3-4 times a year or taking off and centering them over and over! Where did you get yours? I get mine either on Amazon or Joann’s. They drive me crazy.....LOL! I have even used E6000 Glue on them before....doesn’t matter. I know they have the rubber cup...but I don’t like the looks of them....but I don’t want my beautiful floors marked up. Oh well....SENSATIONAL LOOK.... ! Just gorgeous! 💗💗💗👍💗💗💗

Thank you so much! I love the felt pads. The only thing I don’t like is that I constantly am cleaning cat and dog fur off them but I think that just goes with the territory! I don’t have any problems with them shifting. I think I found these at Walmart! They are a must to save the wood floors!! Have a great day! Hugs ❤️

Hi Dana. Question I have is why did you sand between coats of the polyurethane? I’ve not seen that done before....was it to seal it better? I may be doing something similar with a dresser so I’m curious. And why so many coats? Because the table top will be used so often? It turned out beautiful. Your husband did a great job sanding it down....I watched someone who took a couple of end tables and sanded down to the bare wood then sealed it. It looked like beach wood. Wood sure is beautiful unlike the man made junk that’s out there today.

Hi! So you sand between coats of poly so you get a smooth finish. You are only using a very fine grip sandpaper so it only smooths any imperfections or bubbles. It’s amazing how smooth it feels after each coat after you sand. Also, for something like a dresser, a couple of coats of poly should be sufficient but since we will be using the table all the time and putting glasses and dishes, etc. on it, it’s recommended that 4-5 coats be applied. You did a great job. What a bargain for a solid Oak table. I has a similar table and I can attest you are right the table is very heavy. There is no way you could have purchased a new Oak table for less than $1,000. I love the mix of chairs as well. Can't wait to see how you style it.
