Here in Maine, USA there was a boat tavern for years called the Blue Nose, so there is indeed a precedent. My uncle Arthur installed the brass bar rails and such, and that nefarious crew looks much like the riff raff he employed at the time. Lovely memories to this ole pirate.

Haha! Nice work. I like the way that you painted the ship. It's really takes some maturity to be loose with paint like that. It ends up looking great though. This was fun, S! Also, bonus points for using lacquer so that tape doesn't rip the cardboard. You know your materials!

Thanks T-Nu. In the last 10 years I did a lot of mixed media painting and tried all kind of material combinations to find out how they react. Sometimes there are funny reactions you can control a little bit. This knowledge comes in handy now.

Keeping the screen that simple you can make a small amount of them with different layouts for different scenarios, clever. the boattavernthingie looks great, too.

Hi!! This video is very inspirational. not everyone has fancy tools or an insane budget, let alone a work area for this kind of stuff. I will be running a future campaign as a DM (and also participate as a PC in my brother's campaign) so this is super helpful. not only that, but the video was fun to watch too!! liked and subscribed :)

Hey Sigurd! Really nice and cheap idea for the screen. The sea horizon line is a nice atmosferic detail. And the modularity of the notes behind is very useful. Hehehe. A question, If you glue the maps of the boat, not... the tavern... not, the boat... not.. ehhhmmm.. the maps, in a carton like the screen, may be better to the players use? What do you think?

This is heavy artist paper. It takes color very well. I also sealed it in with clear coat 🙈🤣 it is pretty durable.
