DIY Drag & Drive Trailer And New Tow Rig!!! 

Do yourself a favor and weld a peice of angle iron on the axle as a stiffner and add some bearing buddies.Youre a one man army, got to appreciate you're hard work dedication and enthusiasm.

I was buy something similar. But, I had a boat I junked with a fantastic trailer. So I cut off all the boat stuff, and now have a chassis to build a trailer the same size as you're building. That new trailer is HUGE!!

I have experience on THIS little red trailer. Axle will bend at 500lb and axel bearings won't like above 50mph.

Props to you for getting after it, and making progress. Thanks for sharing. Shame about the guts coming apart, but you and the car are safe. Hopefully you take your Dad on another Drag & Drive ASAP

Ya should put a square tube down the center of the tongues back to the middle of the trailer before the Axel.. Ive seen those tongues snap off at the front of the frame. but of course ya can do what ever ya want..... Just a heads up..

Hey Nick, Building and servicing trailers for my job, I would be changing out the bearings and hubs on that Harbour Freight trailer. The bearings that come with them I would not use on a wheelbarrow.

I know you know this, but a nice air fiol on the front of your new trailor would help when pullinf it! Maybe starting from the top of the front and lever it down over the new jug rack ! hinge it so it can go up flat when you are at the track! It's better than pulling a big block behind your car !

Didn't even know you had a channel... Alex gotta plug this Sh** once in a while. I've seen so many of those Harbor Freight Trailer builds it's mind blowing..... BUT... I can say honestly, that is the best damned build I have seen yet. Lot of guys have integrated really cool tricks for theirs, but out of the gate.... by far the best damned build yet. When you have a sec, hit ever damned part of it with extra paint. They are prone to rusting bad.

If you have exposed plywood under the trailer bedliner is your friend. Coat the whole underside.

Just a heads up Nick when you go buy some new trailer tires do not buy a 10 ply because they've been having a lot of trouble with the 10 ply tires, just go ahead and get the14 ply it's a couple hundred dollars more but in the long run it's going to last longest those 10 ply will be wore out in no time from carrying the trailers weight...
