In this video I show you how I made a longer rear drive shaft from shortening a spare front drive shaft on my Suzuki Samurai.
When you lift your Samurai, which is a popular upgrade or modification. The down side is you put the differentials further from the transfer case and at a steeper angle than stock. this creates a problem when articulating the drive shaft can actually pull apart...not good. The quick fix is to throw some spacers in the drive line. While this does help with the length, it does not help with the angle, infact it makes it worse. which creates vibration. Do yourself a favor and just extend your driveshafts properly and kill two birds with one stone!

i really wish you had made a few videos doing all the bodywork restoration aswell. you have done a complete rebuild of the entire zuk judging by the montage of the pics at the end. good work, well done

Planning a manual transmission swap in my truck and according to the forums it'll be anywhere from 1-2" shorter. Instead of lengthening my driveshaft you think I could fit an adapter or washers to the diff yoke with longer bolts?

Great job, was thinking about using spacers on my zook but might just do this. Do you think there would be less chance of introducing prop shaft imbalance by cutting and sleeving the main tube?

Thanks! Yeah adding spacers actually increases you drive shaft angles, which can increase vibration. Thats the reason i cut and rewelded the shaft. There is definitly a chance of vibration if you dont get the yokes lined up properly or if its not welded back on straight. So a rebalance is possible...i lucked out! If you take two sockets the same size an put it under the driveshaft at each end it'll be level an it won't shake i add 4inch to my front driveshaft like that

It depends on your lift or if you still have the stock or modified cross member. If still stock you will need a spacer on the t-case side to get articulation clearance for the d- shaft to crossmember most likely. Thanks for watching Zuki Evolution!

Question, know anything about adding power steering to the zuk?

You can use a power steering out of an 1.6 sidekick. You need an adapter for the steeringbox and build a plate to mount the pump to the the motor. Its an easy conversion.

Were i live, you dont just take a quick drive to the store to buy them, besides adding spacers steepens the drive line angle which wears out ujoints faster and creates vibration.
