I am keen also to DIY change engine oil…maybe next time u can also include where to put the new engine oil in the video coz some people like me who just bought the bike don’t know where to put new engine oil 😊
Hi bro, I really enjoyed your travel videos. I have done a solo run to Betong then Hatyai. I own the same model as you. I run only fully synthetic oil only. Do you experience burning of engine oil as in makan engine oil? I noticed from the video it starts to reduce after 3000km. Is this the norm? When I hit reach I realised my engine oil has reduced and need to top up. I did some research and found that Jason ma2 is not suitable for xmax but instead must use jaso mb due to wet clutch issue. Can this be the cause? My oil change interval is based on once I see a gap on the window I go change the engine oil. I'm running a less known oiil ROWE German oil. Based on my experience on my superfour and fz8. I had run this oil until 7k to 8k before changing the oil even though the gear shift still cuts butter like a hot knife. My friend even run it to 10k on his ST11.But doesn't seem to with on my xmax. I have bad experience with liquid moly after 3k km gear shift is lousy already difficulty going to neutral from 2 or from 1. I agree with you the brakes are crap and they need to be replaced very fast maybe due to my riding habit also. The stock tyres I've use them b4 but my bike shop says its not safe so I took their advice change the tyres and run roadtec from day 1,the 2nd set currently running Bridgestone. I find them better than roadtec. Now I'm considering mitas. So just like your expert opinion on the circumstances I'm facing. Keep those videos coming
Hi bro, thanks for watching and glad u enjoy it, i think it’s nornal for engine oil level to go down a bit but not too extreme low, there’s alot of factors that can cause the oil to dry up, choice of EO brand and type, Fully synthetic seems to maintain level better than Semi in my own experience, also when you bought your bike how well you running in also play a part, if the piston ring didn’t set in properly more oil will sip through and dry up. If your oil level only start to go down after 3000km i find it reasonable, but just keep lookout and make sure oil don’t go below low level line. Anyway i think for Xmax it’s good to change oil between 3000-4000km. 5000km as manual can be done but make sure use good oil and check the level every few days.
Regarding the Jaso Ma2 or Jaso Mb, I’ve tried both, my observation is Jaso Mb scooter 4t give a better petrol consumption but Jaso ma2 is usable too if u can’t find scooter oil, it wont harm your engine. Even the Xmax Yamaha manual say can use either jaso Ma or mb. Good thing about ma2 there’s more good options of engine oil while jaso mb is quite limited. About the tyres, the stock is not the best tyre but it’s not as bad as what people and shops exaggerate. For tyres it depend what kinda of rider u are if u like performance soft tyres then go for Battlax,Rosso, and maxxis s98…if u care about mileage then go for Roadtec,Michelin cg2 or angel…Mitas i ever tried…just soso to me
Heey bro mind me asking the oil filter is different size from spark and sniper oil filters? as i see from google and shopee they are all using the same oil filter is that correct?
It’s the same size, the thing that matter is that there’s alot of copy/fake Yamaha oil filter on the market right now. Try get Original one if possible.
I understand what you mean, anyway after the bike cool down and settle down and off, i will always check the level again, always not exceeding the maximum line. Cheers
