Thank you. I could not reset the oil service indicator, because the Yamaha information is too vague. Thanks to you, I have now been able to re-set it !
I had trouble resetting the 'serv - oil' indicator & the oil tripmeter. I did it several times before I got it right. The instructions seem all correct. Press the Trip/Info button on the handlebar to the left to scroll to the oil tripmeter. Press and hold the button to the left again for a few seconds until the oil tripmeter starts flashing. And press and hold it for 15 seconds to reset. But I think the issue is I had to be pretty well exactly 15 seconds. Eventually, when the tripmeter was flashing, I started holding and counting the number off flashes to get it right. First time I held for 12 flashes. No good. Then 13, 14, and then 15 flashes of the 'oil' - voila, it reset. Hope that helps.
1.5 liters for saturated filter, 1.6 liters for fresh filter at the end of every two oil chnage intervals - is what the manual meant, no need wasting oil rinsing it, just put 100ml more in for the new filter.
Thanks for the video on this, the owner’s manual is annoying vague on the reset procedure ! It says to hold the trip button after the oil trip counter is flashing for 15-20 seconds so you would be excused for thinking that the reset would happen whilst holding the trip button but not so, if you keep holding the trip button, it never resets, you literally have to count the times the display flashes 15 times & only then does the counter turn to zero.
This comment was perfect explanation. You need let it flash 15 times then hold the button in for 15 flashes. Was so annoying that the yamaha dealers. Not know how to do it on my last service
hello, have you noticed any oil consumption on your xmax 300??? mine looks like it's burning some, i did 1600km since last oil change and it's almost at 3/4 level... (my scooter has total of 3000km, bought 2nd hand, but still in warranty and i changed oil myself when i got it just for safety...)
Yeah I think it’s common for this engine, but nothing detrimental to the engine. There is someone explaining it in the comments section of my other videos but I forgot the name
Thanks for this video , you did a great job . Would you be so kind to tell me the size of the sump plug if only you know ? Is it a 12 mm x 1.5 , or a 14 mm x 1.5 ? Cheers .
Just bought a used 2019 with 3k miles with extended warranty till 2023. The oil level was low and dark too . I don't know if this is an issue with the xmax 300
Enjoyed watching your video, funny part is I don't even own a bike/scooter but if I do it would be an XMax 300. It would have been really helpful if you mentioned what parts your changing, like if I was supposed to buy those online or in a shop ( What O ring or What size washer?) or if you could have mentioned it below in your description, it would be way more helpful :)
Thanks for your comment! It wasn’t a tutorial so I didn’t think to mention the particular parts, but they’re common items you need for an oil change available anywhere 🙂
if i do change my oil at 2500km.. how to i set the oil change warning alert to 2500km always? or when i reset at 2500km, it will take that as the algorithm?
From some comments I had from a viewer, they say they "think that it will not affect the reliability. Maybe the exhaust/catalyzer will be affected from oil consumption later. The XMAX are quite reliable and some already have exceeded 40,000kms with no problems..So no need to worry!"
