Eco-enzymes are acetic acid or vinegar produced as a result of fermenting fresh fruit peels and vegetable waste. It can be used as a natural fertiliser and pesticide. It is also a non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning agent.

Few questions 1) Can i add vegetable peel apart from Fruit peel ? 2) Can i collect the peel for 2 weeks and then add Water and sugar ? 3) After i keep the fruut peel for 2 weeks ( before adding sugar ,water) ; the peel has already started leaving water, now how to decide on extra water to add ? Please guide.

3 months is a long time for cleaning solution, I prefer to use the vinegar method, can be used within a few days.

How much vinegar do you have to put and do you use it to replace water?

You can use the vinegar AND prepare this solution. I tell you once you make one batch you will be hooked. I boil some soap nuts with other flowers or herbs and add it to some of the solution once it’s done and use it for so many things. I’m addicted.😁

How about drying the orange peel and then grinding into a powder and adding it to water to make a bug spray? How many teaspoons per litre do you think would be needed?

I think the pesticide on lemon are those earlier embedded from farmers' pesticide spray that are now locked on the lemon skin via imporous wax film prior to sale.

Hi.. can I asks if I only keep for one month. Is it sufficient? Also, can I add banana peel into the orange and lemon residue? After fermented, we should spray it daily or ? Can it be use on all types of plants e.g edible or flower plants? Thank you so much..

ok i like the idea, vinegar with citrus in it. but its not enzymes... its fermentation through bacteria and yeast that produce alcohol and then the bacteria and yeast convert it to acetic acid.

Yes you can use molasses instead, been using it since and it's as effective or better than brown sugar.

How to store and how long can we keep it?

Hi Susan! It is best to store the container in a cool, dark area away from directly sunlight and heat. We will advise to use the eco-enzymes within 6-8 months.

If the plant is attacked by insects foliar spray needs to be done. Else spraying to soil would do.

Hi, When using residue from previous batch. Is it included in the 3parts of fruit or is it in ADDITION to the 3 parts of fruit. Can the residue be added directly to the plant? will it be too acidic?

1. It is in addition to the fruit. 2. You should add the residue to water in a ratio of 1 part residue to 10 parts water, shake for 10 seconds and spray on the plant.

I tried white sugar once and it molded. Never again. I just use brown sugar and it’s beautiful every time.

300g of food waste is quite a lot to accumulate for this recipe and will have to take me days. Is it still ok to use if my food waste has already turned moldy?

This is 4 months later than your question. As I'm the only one eating the fruits, I accumulated orange peels over a span of two weeks. I kept the peels in the freezer while I accumulate enough. That deals with the moldy issues for me.
