**In the video, I use the word "spackle/spackling" for the material that I used on the drywall. It is, actually, called "dry wall mud" or "joint compound." :-)
Anyone can create this DIY electric fireplace built out. My name is Kyona Levine Farmer and in this video, I talk you through my process of this build.

Re-creating this fireplace built-out will vary based on a number of things, including your ceiling height, wall width, fireplace-insert size. My husband (Vince) and I, also, considered the height of our television, fireplace, and mantle. These will all affect how you build the front of your fireplace frame.

Hi @dixielandpartriot7160....he doesn't enjoy it:-) hahaha. He just helps me when I ask, and gives his two cents on my progress. The projects helped me to relieve stress during our IVF journey, so....I enjoyed them.

Hi Stacey, let me know how it goes. The bottom shelf was added just by doing the basic floating shelf method and nailing to studs:-)

Great work! I know this is old (by now) but you can get a 3way (or 6 way) wall outlet to plug in behind the TV and then plug the sound bar in that. It could help with the wire hanging and it only costs less than $10 and no labor other than removing the TV, plug and go

Hi @Sean, it took me forever...like four months. It was my first big project so I figured out each part as I went. You could probably get it done much quicker. 😄

Hi SimplySheekBeauty, thanks! This took me 4-6 months. Each step required me to research the easiest way for me to complete it. For example, I had to research how to put up the drywall and the drywall mud (in the video I mistakenly say spackle). I, also, had to research how to cut and lay ceramic tile. You can complete it much faster if you have the time, tools, and know-how🙂
