Hey, really appreciate the step by step on this. I left my generator sit for a year and did not fire it up at all and I think the carburetor got clogged up. I will clean it our over the weekend using this video as a guide. thanks again.
Thank your, yes you are a life saver. Hope you make some money on video. I have the 3 gas option generator for using the house natural gas. Its hard wired to the house electrical panel. with a lock- out. Much like a whole house generator but not automatic. When I hook it up it runes everything, but my Geothermal furnace. It also runs the furnace fan. with my gas fire place running I can keep the house fairly warm. Thank you for having a desire to help people. God Bless
AMAZING!!!Best video ive watched, trust me ive watched plenty trying to find a proper one to teach me and explain how to do it,trust me when i say ive watched plenty videos and this one has been the only video actually explaining every step on how to fully clean and how to take apart.Great work keep doing these videos ill definitely be coming towards the future.Hope you have an amazing day!
@@chrisdixon2525quick question. My battery took a hit from me trying to start it 30 times without it starting before I cleaned it. If I leave the generator running for a hour or two will it recharge the battery? I have a pull start on it to. But I started it with a portable battery jump. I don’t have a slow charger right now but was wondering if i just left it running will it charge up the battery again. Thanks
Excellent instructions. Some questions: 1. Will the carburetor cleaner damage the rubber on the tip of the needle valve in the float? 2. Will the inline fuel filter interfere with the gravity feed of the fuel? 3 Did you determine if it has an in tank filter?
I guess over time it might. I try not to soak the tip just wipe it off. I've never had a issue with the filters I use.i guess there's potential if the filter was super restrictive. There usually is a small filter in the on off valve but I didn't pull this particular one apart. Fuel free flowed freely when I had it apart. Thanks for watching. I'm not a certified professional mechanic. But I do normally end up with a pretty good repair. I do appreciate your feedback 🙂👍🏼
Thank you for your video. I have a Fireman W03081with inverter generator. It won't start anymore. I cleaned the carburetor. Drained and cleaned the fuel tank and put in new fuel. Changed the oil and changed the spark plug. I tried checking the oil level monitor and turning it off but I can't find it. Do you have any other solutions to suggest?
Do you happen to know what kind of gaskets this carb uses? I'm preparing to rebuild mine but can't seem to find the right gasket kit. I prefer to have them handy just in case they're stubborn and want to tear / fall apart
Look up on Amazon carburetor gasket kit for 439cc clone engine. If yours is exactly like the one in the video. Should have a decal telling engine size. Should get multiple gaskets in one kit for like 10$.
GREAT video...my Firman won't start, and I suspect it is bad gas...been sitting for an extended time. Plan on cleaning Carb this weekend. Questions...when I drain the gas from the tank, can I burn it in my lawn mower or truck with no problems? Also, what are the steps to removing the air filter/housing?
@@erichook1519 Thanks ! I wouldn't chance putting the gas in anything else. I believe the filter housing has 3 screws.2 nuts that hold the carburetor. And one on the back side.
Got my generator back up and running…have a small problem though…see picture-do you know if I can buy this part by itself? Do you recommend just replacing the rubber gasket?
Having issues uploading a photo…it’s the larger screw that secures the bottom cup of the carburetor to the top. The larger rubber gasket to the inside of the carb (when screwed in) is frayed-can you buy this part by itself?
Good observation sir. I realized it when I put the new clamps on. It was right when it left my shop. Easy to do when ya trying to make a video instead of concentrating on the work. 😄👍🏼
I just take the fuel line off the carb. And drain old gas out of the tank. I spray carburetor cleaner in the tank and attach an old piece cloth to a wooden stick or dowel rod and wipe the interior of the tank as much as possible. Pour a little gas in and swish it around and drain it. Repeat until tank is free from rust and crud. Install inline fuel filter between tank and carb. Fill with gas and change the fuel filter as needed . Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Stay tuned for more helpful videos. 🙂👍🏼 If ya need more help, let me know. I'll make a video to help ya.
Went through all the steps and generator still won’t start (propane only). It cranks and just chuggs but doesn’t run. Any tips on what to try next? Spark plug maybe?
I did buy it. For $40 delivered I’ll save myself an hour of time. Thanks for the video, I’ll use it on the install and then play with the old one to have as a backup
