How to clean Onan Generator Carburetor.
Onan generator maintenance may be required if your Onan Generator is running rough or having a hard time starting. Cleaning the carburetor on your Onan generator is not a difficult process and can be done with minimal tools and some basic skills.
Cleaning a carburetor, on most small engines, is a fairly straightforward process and can make the difference between running rough and running like a champ!

Just used this video to fix our code 36 issue and turned out it was the fuel solenoid that we thought was a water censor to kill the engine if too much water was in the fuel. Cleaned the solenoid which was VERY stuck and it fired up and ran clean after 2 years. You're a saint good sir.

Just wanted to drop in and thank you Paul for the tip you gave many moons ago about the extra part on the tow dolly to keep the tongue of the dolly in place. We were on our way to Abita Springs La and when we got here , when hubby was getting the truck off the dolly he found that the pin was missing. Without that extra clamp that you had on yours we would have lost our truck and maybe wrecked our mh. Thx again. Love YALLS channel.

A Mike Rowe and a dirty job. You taught me to continue as I always do. Have mine maintained when I'm at my fav garage in Havasu before setting out on any journey. I have not done anything but run mine to run it. Been well over a yr since I needed it. Now I have all my solar and no need for the thing. I would be happy to remove it all together and save on gas not lugging the extra weight around. Great seeing love you professional terminology. Your always a hoot.

Hey Paul ..... NICE to see you posting again !!! GOOD job with the Gen carb ... (Sadly, the fuel we get today is crap, and it will cause gumming, clogging, issues in anything, especially when that engine isn't ran much ....) . I go through this with my 84 Honda GoldWing, every spring time .... only mine is a "times4" Mikuni carburetors . /// But I LOVE that old bike , ... Can't seem to prt with her !! I hope you both are doing WELL, down there in sunny, warm Mexico 😎, (It's rather chilly up here in coastal Massachusetts) Rick S.

Great video! What size is that fuel line? I will be doing a similar service soon. Genny still runs but not great and smells horrible. I'm gonna do the seafoam treatment where you connect a separate fuel line to a jug of gas and seafoam mix. Then fire it up and let it eat. Also probably get the service kit with new plugs, air, fuel and oil filter. Hopefully that brings her back around.❤

@LifeWithPaulLorena
@LifeWithPaulLorena 10 месяцев назад
If I didn't mention it in the video, I do not remember Randi. I just rebuilt my mother-in laws generator carburetor and forgot to count the turns before taking them out. I grabbed the info from online somewhere, as a starting point, and then kept testing until it ran well. It's close to 2 turns, but not sure if it's that jet or the main. You do the same thing. try to start it at 1-1 1/2 turns and see how it runs. Keep adjusting until it runs smooth. Sorry I don't have a better answer.

Most old-er RV's don't have the Gold version, and is totally different with the carb disassembly... I have an Onan 6000 and looks nothing like the Marquis models... BUT, Mine is on a sliding tray.... and I use it when driving for ac instead of running dash ac. mostly.... I do believe in the solar setup as I have several portable Bluetti systems that have 30 amp RV outputs . Really it all started with sailboats... Solar..... cheap bastards, saving their money for Rum.... Today, if I sold my antique 1978 GMC Royale... I would opt for a 33 ish (non Thor product) built before 2010 and convert to batt and solar totally. DC and inverter system. ( no Propane) .. I would probably run AGM's or Gel... Then down the road if anything happens. you can replace a bad batt easily with whatever except lithium...
@LifeWithPaulLorena
@LifeWithPaulLorena Год назад
A sliding tray would be so much friggin better! Good luck finding a non-Thor product nowadays! They own everything!! You did say 2010, so you should be good! Lol
