Thank you so much for posting this video! You saved me time and money not having to purchase a new cartridge when the existing one still had a lot of life left in it!
This was just what I was looking for! You did a great job of explaining without using words! One request, that you create a drawing of the cassette after you take the lid off. You could mark all the little plastic pieces where each tape label goes and the directions that the wheels turn. I did it for myself because I'm a visual person and wanted to see how it all works.
After successfully fixing my tape cartridge i only printed out few labels and ran out of tape. :( i ordered new cartridge for $2 and it showed up at my door few days later. It was still fun learning. Thanks again.
Thank you. Because of your video I was able to save my cartridge and not waste it, I did consider tossing it and glad I thought to look up how to fix a tape cartridge. Thanks again.
Thanks so much. I was getting ready to toss my cartridges into the trash I was so frustrated and your fix did the trick! Literally, they came wonky right out of the packaging. Very easy to follow along and fix!
Really great! Would have loved to see where the little spring on the green wheel goes tho. Pretty sure I figured it out, but that would have been extra helpful. All in all great vid. Thanks!
Thank you very much for this valuable video. Just i brought P touch E550W. And I got jammed my sample cartridge. But i resolve it from following your video. Thanks again. Keep it up.
Thanks for your time and effort in posting this!!! A challenge, but now I have my lovely gold on premium sparkly white back :) My tape was a compatible btw. To other viewers.. take a photo at the end while your cassette is open.
Thank you! This helped me repair my cartridge, so it was really helpful. I wanted to point out that there's another catch between the two that you pointed out at 1.08 and 1.10! You have to access it from the underside. Not really critical as forcing the case open should be able to pop it. Using sticky tape to hold down those pesky bits was also a great tip!
Nice job! Managed to fix the cartridge thanks to this video! My one didnt have the little clips and was just held together with friction and eased apart nicely. Very fidley job though!
Fixing the cartridge on the label maker was a great way to spend an hour on the night shift xD thanks for the tutorial so it didn't have to be thrown away
Finally decided to use my label maker after a year. I thought the cassette was faulty until I found your video. I was able to fix it and it works great. Thank you for the detailed video
Excellent video - because I had a 24mm tape - out of the box - and jammed. Mainly - because the thin black color-tape fell off the reel (so it wasn't rolling it up). I looked at the video - mainly to get an idea how to open it - and what expects me inside :-) THEN also - how the tapes/reels need to look - as my 'green'-reel was empty ... THEN - I've done pretty much - the steps in the video ... ONE ugly thing what happens towards the end is, that the white adhesive tape - got in touch with the thin colour tape. happened several times - until I figured out what's the reason (tensioning the color-tape rewind reel) To prevent the adhesive roll picking up the color-tape - simply put 4cm of transparent tape onto the adhesive side. This way - the thick adhesive roll won't be able to 'pick up' the color-tape ... Makes re-assembly way easier. When reassembled - just pull out that part of the tape, which isn't 'sticky' - DONE - WORKS :-)
Bitchin' this TOTALLY worked!!! Thanks, Dude with the long thumbnail. I would totally chuck in the trash if these weren't so dang expensive. Nice and soothing "mushroom house" music in the background. It was calming bcuz this is not easy-easy. Just when you get the spool thing on it slips in your hand and another part falls off. Took a bit to get all the pieces put back the way they should. I now intrinsically understand how these cartridges work! Back to labeling stuff in our "Pandemic Pod" for virtual learning.
thank you very much !!! it's not easy to film this, for me it lasts ~ 1 hour - the film tape falls out etc. • Right at the first test run there was a new belt jam, which now I was able to remove without opening the housing again, as I understood after the praxis bevor the three-belt system. Unlike in the film, all 3 bands were still visible. So I was able to put the 3 bands back together outside of the housing. :-)
this is exactly what i was looking for. i was on a chat with brother support and they could tell me nothing! not even why this happens, its like choosing menu > clear on the device changes the cartridge permanently like! without any warning that you can't go back and there is nothing explaining the function on their website faq's or the manual! a defintie floor of the brother cartridge on tpz tapes! just hope brother watch this and do something about it!
Very good video. Had to replay parts to watch how the tape was routed. Got the job done. I was ready to return the labeler and the tape until I viewed this video.
...reminded me about the time when an audio cassette use to get caught in the roller of player mechanism, this being worn and tired from use! You had to take your time to do it properly! ....when the tape would break at one end inside roller cassette.. Jesus it was "fun"!
não sei escrever em ingles mas quero deixar registrado minha gratidão pelo excelente video que vc fez, me ajudou muito na solução de problemas com fitas. Grande abraço.
I spent hours pulling my cartridge apart, taping it and put it back together, and when I went to make it print, nothing printed on the white, it was just blank. Any hints to help?
