This video we show how to disable the always on Daytime Running Lamps on most Fords using ForScan ELM-Scanner: www.amazon.com/dp/B083FML519?... Download ForScan (Free) sw.forscan.net
I would like to thank you for posting on your 2010 f150!! You are the only one to do anything on our year of truck. If you have any more it would be greatly appreciated. I was able to shut stuff off and I thank you for that!!
I no longer have the truck, but I do have more videos of it on the channel! I may even have some in the archive I haven't posted. If I do, I'll post them!
I completed these steps on my 2012 f150. All settings in forscan show that DRL is disabled but they are not. On all the time. Any idea of a work around?
Awesome. I've been looking to do this for years, I have a canadian xlt. Just wondering where the program comes from ? Do you have to download it or does it pop up on the laptop when you plug in the scanner? I'm not good with computers lol. Thanks
On very few older cars it is a possibility - on anything modern (2007+) No. The DRL is controlled by the ECM, pulling the fuse would kill the headlamps altogether which you do not want to do.
Do you have to have the extended license to do this? I clip on the micro chip and everything pops up but no matter what i click on when i try to run it, it just keeps popping up need extended license to use this function
My Ford explorer 2017 Auto lights it's always on and it's doesn't turn off automatically during sunny days this happened when I changed some things with forscan any help please
If this process doesn't work (meaning DRL isn't the issue). It may be a bad connection to your ambient light sensor, or something is blocking it. The sensor (usually found on the top of the dash) is what tells the truck when it's dark/daylight. That may need to be looked at or replaced.
Hi. Will this definitely work on a Canadian 2011 Ranger? The DRLs come on when you turn the key on, as in, they come on in PARK, not just in D/R. This is very important to me, 'cuz it's the determining factor in whether I buy this truck or not to replace my '05 that an idiot totaled for me! Thanks!
Oh, I HATE DRLs, so if there's even a chance that this won't permanently disable them, I'm going to play it safe and buy a different 2010/2011. Thanks again.
Rangers are a different animal. I’d be inclined to say it could not work, but I’m not for sure. Here’s why: Most Rangers even from 2010/2011 (last models) use the same PCM that Rangers from 90s and 2000s. I have a 2000, it’s very limited to what you can control/turn off.
@@RandomAutomotive Hi! Thanks for the response. Yeah, I'm all over the Ranger forums and the only posts that are definitive and by highly credible people are the ones that say it can't be done. The few posts that say it can be done don't have any objective evidence of success to back them up. However, the (really cool) sales guy in Portland with the Canuck Truck is 1.5 hrs into the process of using Forscan, etc., to kill those DRLs as I'm typing this. He started at 6pm, so here in, what, as long as it takes to git-'er-done OR finally give up in frustration after exhausting every permutation he can think of, we will know "yea or nay" conclusively. I'll conclude this "real time" report in a few.
If equipped you can do this exact same process as mentioned in the video, except where we change the setting toward the end from 1- enabled to 0- disabled. You would do the opposite from 0-disabled to 1-enabled
