How to modify change daytime running lights led halogen low high beam fog turn and anzo switchback halo lights using ELM327 OBDII port and forscan on laptop cpu connect computer
Great video bro. Thank you very much. I had made some changes and didn't keep track. Long story short the Anzo White Halo would stay on for 10 minutes after truck was off and light would flash every 10 minutes unless I unchecked DRL in settings. I was a lil nervous but finding and watching your video gave me the As Built digits that I didn't backup and showed me every code to every sequence so I could get them done correctly. Can't thank you enough but I did subscribe. Great video my man.
Hi Ricardo, thanks for this and more other helpful videos from you 👍. I programmed and activeed just the daytime running lights on my 2017 F-150 with LED lights. Upon cranking the enigne, lights to AUTO and column shifter to D bingo - DRL are there. Next day another engine start, lights to AUTO and D -> no DRL anymore😳. Any idea? I checked by forscan the values BCM 726-26-02 reps. 45-01 are still there. Thanks for your feedback.
Hello question will this work with other aftermarket heads that convert halogen to the led? I have the vland headlight and I would like to just have the halos on instead of both the halos and headlights during the day. Thank you for your videos Ricardo!
Thanks for the video! If I have a 2017 Super duty(halogen), is this the same? I want only turn signal lamps on with my drl’s, nothing else to be on. Thank you!
I did the values for parklights to be on as drls on my stock led headlights and nothing happened when the knob is in the "auto" position. It instead replaced my lowbeams with park lights to just park lights "only" when on the ON position. Hope you can help me fix this. Ive read somewhere that said they only come on if its in drive idk if its true.
I have a 15 platinum as well and have the switchback DRLs from Diode Dynamics in and I am trying to figure out how to have the DRL white as the running light with the low beam off. Can’t seem to figure it out.
Would the 2020 f150 with tech package have this module? I installed led headlights with DRL leds, and would like to turn on the DRL if that is an option for the XL trim package
Just wanted to say thank you for this video. I've watched lots of your forscan stuff. I tried to switch my DRL to fog only using the famous "spreadsheet" but it only lists BCM 726-4501 xxxx 7Fxx xxxx BCM 726-50-01 04xx I added the BCM 726-26-02 x1xx xxxx xxxx and this time it worked. Thank you very much for taking the time to help people. You are Awesome.
Hey I just watched the video and did the position lamb and turn signal only setting. For some reason my DRL is now the low beam, position lamp, and turn signal. Do you know if something didn’t work or if it’s not possible to only have the position and turn signal? I’m also wanting to brighten up the position lamp but I haven’t gotten to that yet. Any help is appreciated. 2016 F150 Limited with factory LEDs
I hope this fixes my turn signal switch back led issue. My drls should be white but the low voltage drl sent to turn signal makes them go amber and flicker orange. I have to manually turn on park lamps to get the effect I want.
wich one is the front running amber light not the brigth amber turn (just the regular amber ,there is high and low light on the amber, want the low side) thank you... my truck doesn't have the front led...
Fantastic video man. I got stuck changing mine to disable and couldn’t figure out why. This video explained it. Just do I have it in writing, can you tell me the 3 locations you changed and what the settings would need to be set at for disable? Thanks bro!!
Hello! I have a question. I have the same fordf150 as the one in the video. The Daytime lights option does not appear in my car settings (see minute 5:17) I have the forscan. Do you know what code I have to change to make this appear? Thanks for your help :)
I have a 21 expedition max. I want to turn off the daytime running lights. How do I find the chart to be able to find the codes needed to adjust certain things I want to change?
Quick question, If the switch remains in “auto”. Does this mean that when the headlights come on at night it disables the amber DRL settings applied in this video? Please advise as I have my forscan tool being delivered on the 30th of April
So when 726-29-02 value is changed to 1, does that turn all the lamps/headlights/fogs to full bright or is it just the running lights? Or is there a way to change all running lights/headlights/fog lamps to bright without having to chose one or the other? I have a 19' f150 with the led's.
Hi Ricardo. Great video brother. I tried using your settings for “parking lights only” but the low beams still come on when I turn the switch to off. I’m trying to get a set up where I can turn the selector switch to OFF while in gear and be completely dark for when I’m hunting. Do you have the codes for master disable for the DRL’s? I’d appreciate any help you can provide.
i have the alpha rex pro series headlights...will this work the same with my application? i have the drl harness installed. i dont want the low beams to be on during the day. i have a 2018 f150 and no option to turn on or off the drl in the cluster control. i only have the autolamp to select
Thank you for this. Question, if you don't mind...I have the Anzo switchbacks and went to do the white halo's as DRL's. However, when I went to change BCM 726-26-02 to x1xx I got an invalid checksum error. Any thoughts?
Question, I just purchased a 22 F150 that originally came from Canada. It is a lariat package that should have daytime running lights with the new LEDs. Can’t seem to find daytime running lights anywhere. When I go into the system on the big screen, it does not show it as an option. Is there a way to add this as an option?
Hey Ricardo, is there a was to make the Factory Halo white instead of amber? Kind of like those ANZO lights. Are there LED’s or bulbs you can switch for the color? Please let me know. Thanks.
Good Afternoon sir! Great video! I'm actually looking to turn my Alpharex Pro Headlights DRL to STAY on amber as the color vs white. Would you be able to help?
Hey man. Thanks for all the great videos! Question for you. I want to have to PARKING LIGHTS AND FOG only on. No low beam no turn. Can you help with the code please. Thanks.
Thanks for watching! I'm not sure if you can... you could try a few variations of the codes to see if it works for you. Remember to backup your original settings!
I have a 2019 F150 Lariat. Trying to get my rear LED taillights to always be on in the daytime. Would need to code the Parking Lights only right? If I do this, when it gets dark, will the Low Beams turn on as usual? Or would you recommend to just code it for Parking Lights + Low Beams? Cheers
If your parking lights are set as your DRL, the tail lights will also run all the time. Here's a great thread to read through: www.f150forum.com/f118/setting-parking-lights-drls-great-find-380225/index24/
I have a 2016 Canadian model. I got on the spreadsheet and did everything to put the option on my settings to turn the drls on and off by clicking the box. The option is on there now but they are just off and don't come on by checking the box. Did I miss something?
Nevermind, I figured it out. I was testing it at night and I know now that the headlights have to be in auto for the drl to work. So in the daytime the option on the dash works like it should.
I added the auto headlights switch and sensor but they don't come ON in auto. Is there something than needs to be changed with forescan? If you are willing to show me I can compensate for your time. Thanks in advance (2012 F150 RCSB STX)
I'm confused at 5:44. Is that what I need to get parking lights only? I tried and now the option doesn't come up in advanced settings. Parking lights are on but so are head lights
Hey there could you help me? I have a 2019 F150 lariat that came with halogen headlights and I just put in the Anzo switchback headlights but the white drl only comes on for about a minute when I first put it in gear and will just shot off after everytime, I’ve tried putting in the code for the anzo headlights in forscan several times but it doesn’t want to stay on?
Do the DRL operate when the light dial is in the O position (far left, off) or turned all the way right to the A position? I’m considering toying with DRL in FORscan but only if it works when the light switch is off; I don’t want to screw with the auto-lamp feature.
My truck only has an auto-lamp control in settings menu of the gauge cluster. There is no actual DRL setting. Are some trucks devoid of DRL? Seems unusual. I’d really like to set a custom parking-light DRL in FORscan to avoid having to manually switch them on every time I drive the truck. What say you?
Maybe you can help me. You seem to a broader understanding of forscan. Im trying to program DRL in the park light/turn configuration but it keeps blocking me. I currently have the DRL with just the park lighs and it works fine but i cant get the turns on with them. Do have any experence with this. 2017 F150 Lariat.
Ernie, what did you input to get your parking lights only to work? I tried doing it tonight and I could get it. When I put the vehicle in drive nothing was coming on in the headlights.
I just want to disable drl completely I bought a Canadian truck but live in the us. I have tried different codes and have not had any luck. Any suggestions? Ty in advance.
So for the high beam only do you have to make the changes to all three sections? Do you even have to make the change to the top one of you can activate the drl from the dashboard?
@@ricardosworkshop thank you. I upgraded from factory 17” wheels and tires to factory 20” with 275/55r20 at tires. Do you by chance know how to recalibrate the speedometer?
Is there a way to prevent the user from unchecking the box for daytime running lights? Basically always force the running lights be always be on if the vehicle is on? No way the operator can turn them off.
Ricardo's Workshop I’d love to know how! Canada requires the vehicle have daytime running lights on all the time. The issue is with my 2017 f150 it has the option to turn them off. Also if I change the lights from auto to off they turn off...
I believe its in ghe BMC 726-50-01, 017F But checkout the spreadsheet docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uDSQ1Z5a2Wt8-kjrSiVSlDFGFHnfeuhb3RTMVz95730/edit?usp=drivesdk
Sir.. can you please help me with my f-150 xlt 2018. After I replaced after market led bulbs on to my headlight, the low beam won’t go off when it’s on drive mod even the light switch is off mod. But If I put the truck on park mod, the lights go off. I don’t want to drive with the light on every time. Which fordscan should I use and what do I have to to change.
Hi Mr try. When you say you replaced the aftermarket led bulbs. Do you mean you upgraded to aftermarket LED or replaced the Halogens with OEM LED? If its OEM, it sjould work fine as long as its set correctly in forscan.
@@ricardosworkshop Sorry about the unclear question that I have to you. I m a second owner of a truck f-150 xlt 2018 originally from Canada. I believe that the first owner must changed a few things on the drl of the truck before. Now that I have no daytime running light option to turn on/off in the display setting. First With the factory halogen headlight my truck the headlight was working fine as normal until I replace it to led bulbs. Since then every time when I drive or reverse the truck my headlight low beam just automatic turn on even the light switch is on off. And when I put it on park my headlight low beam would goes off. Now that I replace the old factory halogen headlight to a new one called Morimoto xb 2nd generation and I still have the same problem as when I replace it to led bulbs. I don’t want my headlight low beam and the C shape led light to be on every time I drive as it on off mode. Please share your thought, thanks.
Hi Try, so Canadian vehicles are locked with DRL due to their laws uo there. You would probably have to change this in the IPC. Then you should be able to change to your preference.
Hey man great thorough videos! I have a 2015 platinum and did this mod. Do you know the numbers to plug in to revert back to having only the low beams as DRL? I can’t find it anywhere on the web. Thanks!
@@ricardosworkshop Thanks for the reply I will try it later today. My only concern is to change to DRL's don't we have to change two values? IE: 2 separate lines of code? Either way I'll let you know if it works. Thanks again!
So I have tried to get just the park lights ( halos only) to work but they wont all I can get is the park and turns to come on. Any ideas what I can do?
Is there a way to make the fog lights come automatically with the headlights instead of having to push button every time the truck is started at night?
Right. But my truck has a day/night sensor and automatically turns headlights on/off, with the foglights. Thats the only way i think you can do it. Upgrade the switch to Auto amd add the sensor. 🤷🏻♂️
Ricardo's Workshop mine has automatic headlights too, its a 16 King Ranch. But I’ve noticed that every time I cut the truck off and restart that only the fog lights have to be manually turned on again. It may not be do-able, but if ya look into it and find out let me know or maybe do a video on it. Thanks!
I tried doing the LED and Halogen for the Parking DRL only and I couldn’t get it to work? Could someone please confirm that is the correct information I need to input? I have a 2015 Lariat with all LED.
Ricardo's Workshop yes sir, I tried like you have it showed on 5:45 on this video. Since I have LED it should only be the two 26-02 and 50-01 or so I do all three for the Halogen? Great videos BTW, I have done almost all your mods!
Doesn't work for 2022 F150 XL. Its only off or on for DLR. High beam with fogs does work. Friendly FYI. Note, I did try putting numbers in and also enable/disable. Neither worked.
hi man quick question, i installed an led strip switchback bar inside my headlamps, where should i connect the positives to get them work as DRL only and not the low beam how it comes originally, i have a 2019 ford f450, thanks
Here's a thought, instead of using FORScan, why not just block off the day/night sensor? It's like having the nighttime lights always on, but without the risk of draining the battery because you can leave it in auto.. (2019 Raptor owner)
