Really enjoyed your video. The instructions are easy to follow, and very motivating. I'm guessing at how you did your waistband. So this is what I did. Figure the waistband size you want finished, double that number and add 3/8 inches. You will get your desired width. Eg., for about a 2 inch finished waistband, cut length according to video by 4 inch deep. Sew a 3/8 inch fold and then fold the rest according to the video. For about a 1-1/2 inch band, cut length according to video by 3-1/2 inches deep. Sew a 3/8 inch fold and then fold the rest according to the video. Play with it using paper or old unwanted patterns & make your own waistband patterns in different widths. Hold it up against your waist and look in the mirror. Hope this helps.

Thank you SO much! Very easy to follow tutorial. I made the skirt in ankara fabric (african wax print) and have had SO many compliments already. I'm a plus size babe and I love that this pattern can be adapted to fit any size or shape. Just about to make another in some different fabric. ❤❤❤❤ Thanks again! xx

Found this so that I could see how best to reverse engineer a half elastic waist band to make it smaller. Which this did wonderfully thank you for not skipping over steps. I also learned a tip on how to stitch in the ditch and not miss the underside like I do in chunks every time 👏. So(sew) very helpful thank you 🙏

最近スカートを作るようになった超初心者です。ウエストが全部ゴムのスカートだと布の幅によってはウエスト部分がもたつきがちだし、かといってゴムなしだと窮屈だし、じゃあ半分ウエストゴムのスカートだったらいいんじゃないかと思ったものの、作り方がよくわからず。辿り着いた先が、この動画でした。丁寧で、とても分かりやすかったです。さっそく作ってみようと思います。

Now I'm watching videos you posted before I found you:) this is my favorite kind of skirt! So thank you for including the formula to calculate all the pieces. One thing I didn't see was the (vertical) WIDTH of the waistband pieces and elastic. I do have a pocket pattern downloaded from other places on the internet (hint to others who asked about that). You have a great talent for teaching!!

Great detailed video. Thank you! I do have a question--how long is the elastic? I am making this skirt for my stepdaughter with a Mr Who pattern, her favorite. I think it will come out great, but I am struggling with length of elastic since she does not live with us. I can't try it on her and see.
