Great question! The front and sides are doing good. The roof has become a little brittle. It held up to 8 inches of snow a couple months ago, but created a sag between the boards. I would probably not buy the cheapest panels for the roof next time. Happy Gardening!
Thank you. I am trying to figure how to create and install the vents and fans. I look forward to your next video. Great idea about using the oven racks. I will now be on the lookout for those at my local recycling center! 👍
Awesome job. Thank you for sharing. I converted an old shed (vinyl siding) last season and will be doing the roof and ventilation this season. You have given me some great ideas.
Thank you. It is showing the wear though. I will probably have to replace the roof panels at least on the top soon. Heat weakens the cheap panels and a tree branch came down on the roof and popped a hole. Happy Gardening!
That's a lot of money for that little greenhouse. It looks nice and very well built but that is a lot of money for that little greenhouse. I bought one years ago, 4 by 16 and it didn't cost that much. Not as nice as yours but in today's times with gas prices and food prices its going to be hard for people to use that 1000 even if they should raise their own food. Yours is nice
Thank you. I have a couple kit greenhouses and they just don't keep the heat in as well. Since I start my peppers in the end of January, I needed something that would really be insulated and durable. With the large spike of lumber prices, this one would probably cost twice as much now.
Great video man. I'm fixing to build a cattle panel hoop house myself but I saw this vid and found it interesting. No BS ear splitting aneurysm inducing music . Just a common man Making a great greenhouse. I almost want to build your design over what I'm planning so I may build it also. The wood was a definite score for sure. Good Luck out there un Western Washington. I miss Washington used to live in Coeur D alene and worked in Spokane. Myself I just moved to the Ozarks. The house I bought here with 80 acres and 3 out buildings would be well over a million in any part of WA . I paid just 400. Plus the political deali gs of WA just make that beautiful state not something I want to deal with with what's happening. Good Luck and God Bless.
It was some of the last dry pressure treated wood before all the mills closed for C-19 which created the shortage and wet wood supply. I had to use untreated 2x4's with Thompson's water seal for the rafters. Happy Gardening!
It does make less mowing in that location. Problem is my lawn tractor doesn't go around them as easily therefore, I have to break out the push mower. I should just put pavers all over my yard.
I know LOL. I have the only greenhouse made with mahogany. I got the wood because a friend was getting rid of a deck. I believe the wood was originally for a ship's deck because of the dowel holes in the ends. A woodworking buddy came over a few weeks ago because he didn't believe me and I gave him a few of the scrap pieces. He took them home, put them on a plainer and was shocked. Not bad for a "Wood Greenhouse Under $1000." Happy Gardening!
Bro!! WHY IF YOU HAD TO SEAL THE WOOD! WHY ON EARTH DIDNT YOU JUIST ^^^ ^CALK IT AS YOU GO^^^^ It will take so VERY much more TIME and EFFORT to fill, EF THAT those cracks! they're So small! When it would have been so easy to just have the calk as you went! and " Squirt, nail- nail , Squirt"
I should have. I actually went and got some insulation foam sheets and put it on the outside. Hindsight is always 20/20. Well, I'm a better gardener than a carpenter. Happy gardening!
