This is a standard differential and transfer case oil service for 2011-2013 Range Rover Sport equipped with the non-lockable rear differential. I've also included an explanation as to why and when these oils should be changed. This service is definitely worth doing well ahead of the official maintenance schedule, especially for the transfer case.
The part numbers for the oils, plugs and washers are as follows:
- Transfer case drain / fill plug washer: IYF500030
- Transfer case drain / fill plug: IYB500020
- Transfer case oil: IYK500010 (prev. standard was LRN0753)
- Differential drain plug: TYB500110 (FTC5431)
- Differential fill plug: TYB500060
- Differential oil: TYK500010

Hello , do you have some problem with the change or type of oil that you used?
@TheMissingBolt

Hi! No, no problems at all. I just clocked 25,000 km since the change and the car is working very well, especially the transfer case.

How do I know if I have a electric rear diff lock or not
@TheMissingBolt
@TheMissingBolt Год назад
Check the "4x4i" central screen window. The top-down view of the car to the left of the screen shows you which locks you have. The central lock is always present (it's part of the transfer case). But if you also see a lock on the rear wheels axle, then you have the electronically locking differential at the back. As an alternative, if you get under the car, check to see if there are any electrical wires that get connected to the differential. If they are there, you have the locking differential (the wires power up the electric motor which does the locking). On my car for example, which has an open differential on the back, I don't have any wires going to it nor do I have the image of a rear-wheel lock in the center screen.

Is it definitely an 8mm hex socket for the tranfer case plugs? Your socket looked bigger in the video.
@TheMissingBolt
@TheMissingBolt 8 месяцев назад
Yes. All 3 fill plugs (from the transfer case and the 2 differentials) take an 8 mm Allen key.

where do you find 3/8 square drive ? I always find 3/8 for the tool but not as the output for the bolt...!
@TheMissingBolt
@TheMissingBolt Год назад
I used a 1/2 male to 3/8 female square drive adapter in the video, since the ratchet I have is 1/2.
