This works, but if you get an exhaust leak that's gonna be a silent death for everyone in the cab with the windows like that. There are many reasons why to branch off of the coolant system for heat, but yes there is a lot of heat that comes in there from off the exhaust side of the motor. Hopefully you'll switch to a proper heater system for your guys safety. Even without an exhaust leak there is still exhaust back there and its gonna get sucked up into the cabin. Especially if you're driving at slow speeds.
I bought mine with a heater already in it. I don’t know how it works, but it looks like it uses a heat exchanger off the coolant lines and uses a fan that blows air through it.
How does hot water go thru PVC without causing the glue to release and pipes leak then? I’ve never had a problem with proper primer and gluing, none have come apart for me.
Thanks you’ve given me ideas , I was gonna use a computer fan 12v I had laying around and drill 3” hole on that cover & mount fan on the back of cover and toggle switch above , kind of thinking about running that dryer vent hose to the exhaust header ? Maybe using a 3” boot of some kind with hose clamps around header and run hose to cover
