You have a wonderful Theater room to do Great Upgrades. Depending on your budget. The room is perfect for 9.4.6 configuration. Leave you ceiling speakers for 6 Dolby Atmos. Only remove front center speaker. Paint the ceiling Matt black and side walls a grayish Matt. Matt to stop reflection of the screen. Food for thought 💭. But Enjoy 😉 it’s Fullest.

Appreciate the feedback. Since creating this video I went to a 7.2.4 system. I created another video on that this past weekend. Thank you for watching!

You definitely need another subwoofer 20x30 is a big room.... pull your towers away from the wall they will sound way better. Good thinking of upgrading the projector i had 4K optoma and way big big upgrade compared to my 1080p benq but not for the better sharper picture but for the crazy HDR colors.. Happy watching mam!

A 5.1.4 system would be great for your room, the reason I say 5.1.4 is because a 9.2 ch receiver (I would get the Denon AVR-X3700H) is much cheaper than an 11.2 ch (AVR-X6700H) receiver but if you have room in the budget then go for it. although you could get an amplifier to make it 11ch because some of the newer AVRs have 11ch processing and 9ch amplification.

You are definitely off to a great start. I’d keep the 4 ceiling speakers for atoms and add 2 side and 2 back surrounds closer to ear level. Get a refurbished denon receiver. Mine has worked perfect for years at a fraction of the cost. That would be perfect in there. A second sub eventually is also a must. It will help elevate any nulls in the room. What I like most though is the cinema sign in the back. May I ask where you got that?
@JasonWhitakerTheDIYDAD
@JasonWhitakerTheDIYDAD 3 года назад
Amazon is where we got the sign. Eventually we ended up with a Denon 3700h. Used pre out to the existing Yamaha and was able to create a 7.2.4 system. I moved the ceiling speakers in the middle to the sides. Left the ones in the front ceiling and rear ceiling as my atoms speakers. I found a pair of Boston Acoustic towers on market place that I am using as my rears. Holy cow it sounds incredible. I just built acoustic movie posters to clean the sound up and made a video on that too. Thanks for watching.

Appreciate you watching. I am not sure if a theater room is ever really done.

You have a great foundation that set for you to bring your cinema home! Do you plan to go with in-walls for your surrounds? With the repaint are you keeping the same color scheme? So love the theater carpet btw. 2nd hand shopping is a very smart solution. Most people don’t even keep their gear long enough to enjoy let alone wear it down (refurbished) isn’t what it used to be... Can’t wait for your detail changes and decor enhancements. I’ve added your channel to my TV guide... Looking forward to your grand opening. Don’t forget to name your home cinema😆😆👏👍✌️

Thank you for watching my channel. I have the LCR's in the ceiling that I disconnected that I am going to move to my surround left and right channels. The current left and right surrounds that are in the ceiling I am going to make my height channels for atmos. I am going to leave my rears in the ceiling for now to see how that sounds. I have decided to go with a 7.1.2 with a Dennon 9 channel 8k avr. I will post more videos as I work on the room.

I think a second woofer would work best after putting some sound deadening in the room. I'm digging the theater. Must have lost my invite to watch a movie :)

I have seen some Klispch subs on market place. I might put one up front. Maybe both up front.
@vwnutter75
@vwnutter75 3 года назад
Most guys put them up front but I have read (working on my theatre) that 1 front 1 back in opposite corners works best
@JasonWhitakerTheDIYDAD
@JasonWhitakerTheDIYDAD 3 года назад
@@vwnutter75 I have also read that placing subs in opposite corners of the room is the best set up. This will be the direction I will go. Good luck with your theater and thank you for watching.
