A tutorial in how to make a Custom Fog Chiller for Free, if you search around for one being thrown out to the trash on bulk pick up day. I was very lucky to find a used one that someone was throwing away. I used straight bleach on it, then rinsed out after it had soaked for an hour. It was someones old bait cooler, no longer wanted. It cleaned up rather well. Igloo 28 qt Quantum Cooler.

If you leave a 2 finger gap between the fog machine nozzle and the chiller inlet, you will get twice the amount of fog.

so jsut a $30 fogger and $30 cooler and chill the fog? That seems way better than a low lying fog machine- even the cheap ones around $200- and your's has way more ice. Hey, what about low lying fog juice and dry ice? Woudn't that increase the effect?

Genius is in simplicity! Great and thanks for sharing. One question… does it make the floor slippery? I would guess so. I have a walkthrough in and out of my two garage doors with a ceramic floor. What are your thoughts?
@mycreepyeffects5909
@mycreepyeffects5909 2 года назад
I would imagine so, but my garage floor and front door sidewalk are rough. So not slippery for me or in those areas. Run off of water would be the culprit not the fog itself. And Thank you for your compliment!
@jrikkerink
@jrikkerink 7 месяцев назад
Small side tip: Spray a light layer of water on the ground can help the fog to linger longer. Fog (being a form of moisture itself) tends to stabilize in humid conditions because the air is already saturated, reducing the rate at which the fog particles evaporate.

Nice video, but I'm confused as to why you're using the window screen? It seems unnecessary if you're using the frozen bottles. Am I missing something?
@mycreepyeffects5909
@mycreepyeffects5909 Год назад
The windows screen catches the condensation from the bottles to recycle the cold water before it reaches the bottom to be leaked out. I would use it as the fog is sprayed on it and it cools the fog from the fog machine. So you can use plain ice cubes or a combo of loose ice and water bottles. But for my design that screen helps to catch ice or cold water from the bottles to help cool the fog.

Hello! Great video. Are you saying “place your bottlesssOF water…” or “bottles of salt water”? Do you have to use salt water? I understand what salt does to water, just want to know what you are using. Sounds like “bottles (with added ssss sound on bottles) of water”. Do you have to use the screen?
@mycreepyeffects5909
@mycreepyeffects5909 Год назад
Regular bottles of water, 15 bottles would be the Best and 15 bottles with some broken up pieces of Dry ice would be Amazing. But if you have the same 5 day cooler maxcold by igloo it does better job than a regular plain igloo cooler. If you use a 700 watt or 1000 watt fogger maybe a bigger cooler maybe needed 64qt Max cold igloo. I use a 400 watt fogger and a 54 qt Max cold igloo cooler. FYI. Screen is optional, but remember that screen keeps falling ice from reaching the bottom as to not block the fogs exit port, but also acts as a collector of any water to help cooling the mist of fog as it passes through it. If you use loose ice, use the screen, if just frozen water bottles, you don't have to use the screen. I use it everytime myself, but it is your choice, your fogger. Good luck! Thank you for the compliment.

Run off after a while, but if you run a hose at the bottom end or have a catch pan at the bottom end to avoid it from the melted ice. When I ran mine there was run off after an hour but very little. It ran down in the grass in my setup. This year will be in the porch, I will see how dry or how much run off I get. But from what I remember hardly any, plus I'm in Texas with Texas heat.

Added support for the water run off from the bottles with introduced heat from fog. Also as catch for dry ice or ice pieces, but it traps some of the run off water that forms on the outside of the bottles to create a cooling mist screen for the fog.

I suppose this idea is for warmer areas... Because it doesn't work where I live lol. I just built one... No matter what, the fog won't get colder than the air here😢. So it makes sense. For this to work, you need a warm climate, because heat rises and cold sinks.. if the air is the same temp as the cooler, it just smokes out your neighborhood.😂

Dry ice didn't even help? If it snowing or cold enough to, it may not work.
@hallowfear
@hallowfear 2 года назад
Why does everyone seem to think that the hotter climate you have the harder to get the fog to stay down ???? That is false. Since says that cold air is heavy and ges down and got air rises correct?? So the hotter your climate is the easier it is to get the fog to lay low. Harder in colder climates. Think about it. If it's 90°f , 50°F fog will want to stay lower then the hot air. When in a cold climate and it's 50°F that same fogchiller set up will not work as well as it's the same temp as the air around it. Get what I am saying ??
@mycreepyeffects5909
@mycreepyeffects5909 2 года назад
I understand, buy from what I have seen the gases heat up fast. Especially with the fact it is hot going in and is being cooled by the ice it passes thru. I'm no scientist, but it doesn't stay low that long with other variables, also when you don't use dry ice. I had only frozen water bottles for this video. As I understand it, dry ice with ice helps the fog stay low, but surrounding temperatures still heats it up. It does last longer with dry ice in the mix due to it's lower temperature.

Could I ask why is it less efficient ?
@mycreepyeffects5909
@mycreepyeffects5909 10 месяцев назад
Ice cubes spread over and drip more water, but also better direct cold air contact from the ice to the fog. I used the bottles for less water run off and knew less direct colder air from the ice inside due to the plastic. But for my personal purpose, less mess was what I wanted.

Does the amount of fog make of difference more fog the thicker the amount of fog. i have a dance floor about 50 by 100 feet.
@mycreepyeffects5909
@mycreepyeffects5909 2 года назад
The mixture of the fog liquid. Even the industrial fogger for dance floors have a larger pump. It has even ratios of glycerin, deionized water and propylene glycol. Best is a bigger pump in a fogger, so if you want more fog, get a industrial dance floor fogger. So the heat coil and pump are meant to work together.
@mycreepyeffects5909
@mycreepyeffects5909 2 года назад
Thicker fog, you need more than one machine. Ratios of mixture can clog the machine, so better to have more than one machine for thicker fog. I myself am going to just add vape liquid to my fog liquid to test out. But I may just get one more fog machine for next year.
