In a day and a half I install a bluestone patio. This is a walk-through of the process of installation. It highlights on the important parts of the process.
You really have an eye for this. The video was a pleasure to watch. You made the job look easy but I know from personal experience that it is not. I really like it.
Enjoyed the video, but I have a few questions: did you use any erosion control paper between dirt and compacted materials ... what type and how thick of a base did you use ..... and what loose aggregate did you lay the stone on? Thanks as I have an interest in this same project at my house.
Love your style. I am doing video research for my home project, I see you only put gravel for base, but some guides say you need to put gravel then compact and then put on level sand. I am thinking of putting pattern bluestone over my current gravel patio, if I could just dry lay on the gravel, that would save a lot of work. Can I do that?
I haven’t been back to see this one. However I did see an older patio and walkway that I built 6 years ago in Saint Paul, and talked to the homeowner about doing another big patio. Her neighbor finally got his bluestone walkway last week. On that street there are three neighbors receiving my masonry services. Word travels fast.
