This looks like a cocoon coat to me. I've been looking at buying a coat in this style recently. I love the idea of wearing a coat which is cosy and has lots of room to wear layers underneath. I'll be on the lookout for a piece of cloth I love.
diane.... those were my thoughts. Did you make your velvet inspired robe? You can pick up the Cocoon wrap pattern at the folklore pattern place. This looks like it could be a good substitute/ close enough.
You can buy excellent fabric from Linton Direct. They supply tweeds and other fabrics to a lot of couture houses including Chanel, and they are based in the North of England. Thank you for sharing such lovely fabric and an inspiring coat. I believe it is by Poiret, but perhaps you can tell us what the book is called. Thanks again.
It's quite unusual but very nice. I loveeee the material and the snaps my dear. I don't have those where I am. Only the long time silver or black ones.
So did you cut the upper portion of the coat - portion that goes across the chest? It looks like you did but you did not mention that in your video. So did you? Thank you. Sincerely, Clarene Miller
Hello! I know this is quite late, but I do not believe she cut it- you can still see the hand finished edge on her chest. It’s just in how the piece is worn, hope this helps!
