I am very interested in starting to make my own lotion & butter’s, but I’ve heard that there are certain ingredients That must be added to keep butters & lotions from possibly going bad or even getting mold. You want to use a preservative to extend shelf life because it contains water and water soluble ingredients. There are alot of different preservatives ranging from natural to artificial in the market these days. The only time I don't use one is in making my whipped butters as it only includes oils, butters and oil soluble ingredients. Hope this helps and thanks again for loving
