I have watched so many upholstery videos and I am so pick because well my dad does upholstery in California and he is such a perfectionist. But most RU-vid leave wrinkles or many fabric lumps. You are really good😍 I hope to one day have that skill♥️

Thanks for sharing. I like the cardboard strips technique. I plan to do an arch headboard with segments like your channels. But I suggest using bedrail hardware to make assembly and disassembly more robust.

I’ve been a fan for a long time love your work. I want to make a circular back drop with the same channelling. My question is what is the wood made out of? And can I use MDF because the back drop needs to be light and easy to handle (movable). What’s your suggestion?

I'd have liked to see how you went about attaching the leather on both sides of the channels, particularly where they butt up next to each other.

He showed that. Once he tacked the first piece of gray leather down he flipped the next piece upsidedown on top of it. You can see it's blueish underside is facing up. He then stapled through the underside up leather, the previous leather and the cardboard strip, then laid another piece of cardboard strip on top of the same edge, to keep the new leather edge straight, and stapled it down. The only place where he did not put a second strip of cardboard was where the wood was. He proceeded to glue and lay down the next piece of foam, then a layer of polyester on top of it, and flipped the leather over them both so that the grayish side of the leather was then facing up. He finished that channel by stapling down the leather to the next cardboard strip that he had laid down in the beginning. That is what I saw. I hope that helps.

Hello! Just stumbled across your video. I have a question about the leather on the bottom side rails….. I noticed the piece you used to cover it was stitched together. Did you stitch it together yourself??
