DIY How to wire single phase 115 Volt Blower motor with start/run capacitor Testing Only

Motors that use start capacitors have an internal switch that opens after the motor starts. This motor appears to have a hung centrifugal switch. I know this is quite old, but just wanted to mention this in case anyone needs the info. When those switches do not open, motors run rough and slower than normal and are very inefficient.

I really recommend looking up the motor online with information from the sticker.

My fan motor has a 3 wires which are Brown Yellow Black. I wonder what would be the setup.

Hi sir...I have a 1 phace 115v motor from a GE window AC it had a short on the cord that connects to the outlet...I replaced the cord and when I connect it to the 110v outlet the only thing that works is the display on the AC unit I checked the capacitor ant its within range( it good) I took the fan motor out it has a harness with a red, an orange and a yellow connected to a connector the black and the white cables are on the same harness coming from the fan motor should I eliminate or not use the red, orange and yellow cables as I seen on yr video you taped the 3 yellow cables and not use them...I need to see if the motor is good or if it burned caused by the short on the main line...help please.

Ditch the capacitor and just spin it it will start right up and its way quieter than that

I have 2 double prong capacitors i did it the same way and nothing my air con motor only has a shaft coming out one way

The white is Neutral/Common the Black is the hot side.

I think they cost more than 10 dollars if you check the market
